I am up to Ep11 of Fish Upon The Sky. Is it raunchy? Sort of. For starters, we have Neo Trai in his boxer shorts for 1/3 of his scenes.  (The other boys need to do something similar.) He even does a dumb naked dance in front of his bro.  He also has weird thoughts of his boy Meen topping him. 

 

I love the chemistry between Neo and Phuwin as brothers and I think most ships should also do the same. Feature the guys as lovers for 1 series and as brothers / besties for another.

 

Neo and Louis have better interaction here than in The Eclipse. Louis playing (or being forced to play) his role like 2Bros Sarawat / FUTS Mork Sutthaya is not the way to go for his character.

Vice Versa is the reverse Bad Buddy, and is more similar to RakDiao is terms of the progression of the story, at least for me. VV's Ep3 to Ep 8 were frustrating from a storytelling POV, with the two boys hardly doing anything to return back to their universe. If each episode had done that, I would be willing to put it as a top-tier one. The final few episodes are a hell lot better.

 

The Eclipse was alright / not bad for me for the first 8 episodes (too draggy though!) and became much better at the end. Some of us here love Ep11 Parts 1 to 3. However, judging from feedback online, it was somewhat polarizing. Perhaps it is 2nd only to 2Bros in terms of polarizing.

 

Not when...

 

1. 1000 Stars' premise was based on the fact that a guy was permitted to go on a hardship assignment a mere 9 months after a heart transplant. And if the writers had said that Tian went to mountains 3 or 4 years later, then the whole village would have long moved on from Torfun and the sentimental aspect of the show would have been diminished.

 

2. The lame scene in the final episode where Tian and Phupha missed out on seeing each other at the doctor's wedding. Unnecessarily dragging the show... (The doctor should have been a gay character though!)

 

3. Phupha dragging Tian under the bus in Ep8 without causing a permanent rift in their relationship is one of the most badly written things in a BL. (Alongside Wai exposing PatPran in Blah Buddy Ep6.)

 

 

I will still say the show is deserving of its many plaudits though. 

I took all those things into account and that’s why it’s a 9; otherwise, it would’ve been a perfect 10
