Is Dear Doctor Coming For Soul a good series? I've not seen any chatter about this show for a few months.

 

Same goes for Off Jumpol. It seems like no one is really here for him.

 

Maybe those 2 will be snubbed.

DDCFS was a non event here and Off was great but there is jus way too many actors better this year

While About Youth is like the Taiwanese equivalent of 2Bros, Plus & Minus is like the Taiwanese equivalent of Bad Buddy.

 

- The two couples know each other for 2 decades, and they have lots of suppressed feelings. 

- The confession scene in the baseball place in P&M is nearly equivalent to the rooftop confession scene in BB

- I stan Max Lin & Ohm Pawat's abs, but not their faces. 

- The writing at the start was good, and I can sense it getting worse (I'm up to Episode 9 of P&M now). We had one episode of lovey-dovey tenderness in Ep 8, and bam, conflict in Ep 9.

Things that you might have missed in Plus & Minus because the translated subtitles did not do a great job at explaining the hidden puns in Mandarin and Japanese....

 

1. The name of the show in Mandarin is "Zheng Fu Zhi Jian" (literally plus minus in between"). Coincidentally, Zheng and Fu are the last names of the two male characters. In Ep 8, Zheng Ze Shou mentioned that the + refers to him (both Zheng), minus the - refers to his BF (both Fu).

 

2. Katou Yuuki is the long-haired half-Japanese dude from the bar. Do note that "Yuuki" over here translates to courage/bravery, and does not mean snow ("yuki", where you don't drag the u sound). In Mandarin, the same characters are pronounced "Yong Qi".

In Ep 5, before they went to bed together, Yuuki prepares a drink for Mr Jian, the boss of the laundromat upstairs. Katou calls his concoction "Xi Yi Dian Lao Ban De Yong Qi", which means "the laundromat boss' courage". But of course, since Yuuki has already fallen for Mr Jian, you can interpret the name of the drink as "the laundromat boss' Yuuki"  and he's actually hinting that he already belongs to Mr Jian.

Yeah episode 10 is gonna be a mess, but it will all get solved in ep 11. And there's also ep 12 + the special episode to make up for da' mess in ep10.

 I didn't vote last year but I still would have probably voted for him.

1. Sometimes it takes just one episode to tank the reputation of a show. I do hope P&M only has 1 questionable episode, and that's it, because I really want to support it when the nominations are out.

 

2. Mix Sahaphap played a top in Fish Upon The Sky though.  His character, Maung Nan, deserves an award for best rejection.
