thatsmydemi Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Just bought Echoes of Wisdom. My first Zelda game since the disaster that was TOTK. Hopefully this makes me like the series again. 1
Magickarp Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Annoyed I explored 90% of the entire cold region before learning I could stop the cold Also I unlocked 5🔺 yesterday, & those monsters EAT. I have like 50 🟦 crystals left, cuz I've only upgraded my Sword since i don't see the point in the rest. Oh yeah, & **** that optional 🌩 boss. I haven't looked up a guide, but my idiot brain was in PAIN. Probably the BEST accessory i've gotten though, so it was worth it.
xXavril Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Beat the game on regular and now I'm going to replay in hero mode! tbh I'm a Zelda fanboy since birth (and even have a triforce tattoo) so it's hard to be objective, but I do think it's a solid 9.5 or even 10/10. the echo menu was dreadful but that was expected, but other than that I had so much fun the entire time. I loved the second half of the story, and the music in the last couple dungeons was absolutely beautiful. The story progresses quite nicely, and while there is quite a lot of dialogue I found it enjoyable. Definitely one of my favorite "2D" Zelda games 1

Dylangaga Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Just completed the Gerudo dungeon That one treasure chest took me a minute
Bad_vocal_technique Posted October 3 Posted October 3 The echoes menu is an embarrassing disaster. You should be able to archive echoes or something. Like what's the purpose of keeping the initial version of an echo if you later get the upgraded one??? 2

Nintendo never lets us run for free without any consequence . Edited October 4 by Katamari 5
Dylangaga Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I beat the Hyrule Castle Dungeon last night and omg I was so drunk I kept falling off the cliff in the rift world the boss battle was fun! 1
Magickarp Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Finally finished Echoes. It's like COCK 2D. There are many clear references to COCK throughout the game, but it improves upon most of my problems with COCK. The "limitedly open" 2 part progression should've been how COCK's story progressed. The Rifts should've been what the Depths were like. Multiple small maps with rewards that fix the world, vs 1 large map that's pointless to explore. TOTK should've allowed us to actually rebuild Hyrule, & permanently remove the Gloom, Depths, & Sky debris through exploration. Dungeons & Bosses obv better, but that's easy vs a too open 3D game. Combat, easy. Though I like how u can get the best monsters fairly early, but ur limited to using them. Also, monster spam >>> weapon durability. Controls... well it's as **** as COCK, but at least the Sages aren't there. Visuals, I significantly prefer COCK. Still wish this had a mature HD2D or COCK artstyle. Story, it's nun special, but the artstyle biases me against it. I keep seeing it as a story for kids. Objectively Echoes is more well written than COCK's, whose writing falls apart on close inspection, but COCK felt more epic due to the visuals. Playing RDR2 right before def didn't help Also GLAD they didn't make the same damn mistake again 1
Erreur2 La Nature Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I haven't finished Echoes Of Wisdom yet but it's more entertaining than Tears. 1
