I went first, sis  Since then I’ve got put about 5 more hours in Wonder and I’m 5 hours into Super Mario RPG. This year has been super busy for me and I’m just now getting the chance to play.

I’ve had an internal dilemma on whether I want to play it on Switch or Switch 2. And since I still have 30+ games in my backlog, it got a temporary sideline :/

 

I also have a ton more time now so I’ll probably play it in early 2024 after SMRPG.

 

What did you think of it?

Oh, work. You'll have to share your thoughts once you do. (Just make sure you get to it before the Nintendo Switch Complete Library Rate next year )

 

I thought it was great! I agree with a lot of the criticisms (similarity to BotW, barren nature of the depths, etc.), but the gameplay was still fantastic and I enjoyed every moment I had with it. And I was so happy the story was far more compelling than the usual Zelda fare (at times).

What do you typically prefer? Platformers or action/adventure?

 

Super Mario 3D World is the best if you’re playing with multiple people. One of my favorite multiplayer games ever, along with Halo and Smash Bros.

 

For single player, I would say Tears of the Kingdom. Or if you really like platformers, Wonder for single player.

Tears if you want something with more depth and you're prepared to sink a lot of time into it.

 

Super Mario 3D World if you're more in the mood for individual platforming levels and a faster experience overall.

 

No need to get Wonder; if you're in the mood for Mario, go with the vastly superior 3D World

Kinda. It's pretty much confirmed it'll happen in the next 18 months but the specific timing of release is hard to lock down.

I was doing my ranking of 2023 games and I almost forgot that Fire Emblem Engage existed 

 

I wish Intelligent Systems made an effort to write story and characters with depth cause the gameplay is amazing (the best in modern FE imo), then I remember they also made FE Fates (great gameplay, awful story)
