Yeah I'm not worried about the launch lineup. In fact, there are too many games to play already, with more to follow soon after. DK3D is coming out in July, for example.

The Switch is basically a Zelda/Mario/Pokemon machine these days along with multiplatform indie games that they cater to people on the go. I sold my Switch a few years ago after Covid lockdowns ended because I never used it. I mainly got the thing for Zelda and Pokemon but the new Pokemon games are so horrible I bailed. And TOTK was a BOTW rehash I felt ok skipping. The thing is the games never go below like $50-$60 so you can't even get them on sale really.

TOTK was still very good imo and they definitely took BOTW to the next level which felt crazy, but that's pretty much all they have. I'm sure Mario Cart will be fun, but as you've said, they are just repeating the same things over and over with now half of the budget going to remasters and remakes as well which I don't think are really seeing that much appeal in this day ang age...

 

We need fresh titles, new universe, new characters, new franchises and the wheelchair basketball rocket league is not fixing that

I just don't see a single reason to get the 2 for the foreseeable future. the Direct did NOT convince me at all, why was my favorite reveal the feature of a headphone jack on the new Pro Controller?

I must be missing something, because as someone with over a thousand hours in Elden Ring across four different systems, it looks… basically identical to what I'm used to from the very brief gameplay they showed. Maybe slightly nicer colors, actually. Granted I personally only ever play with it set to prioritize frame rate unless I'm taking screenshots, but still.

Nintendo also like never has good digital deals and they do not want people reselling physical copies. I think they are aiming to undercut physical prices to eliminate middleman physical stores and resellers like Gamestop after this gen. Then they can charge overpriced digital prices and their biggest digital sales "deals" will be like $60 coming from a $90 price tag.

Doesn't this just mean if you buy their ultra mega deluxe subscription you can play old games like S/V Enhanced without paying the upgrade fee? I don't think it's like a gamepass lol.

The game prices are a little hard to swallow, yeah. I know people have been saying this was coming for a while since games are a lot cheaper than they used to be when considering inflation, but such a sharp increase is… a lot.
