I think y'all are all doing way too much. An hour long direct to only show a couple new games was a fumble but we're getting the biggest Mario kart game ever, a donkey Kong game from the odyssey team and one of sakurai's final games ever in the launch year.

 

Switch 1 had Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and a gaggle of Wii U ports.

 

Yes switch also had botw ported from Wii U but switch 2 is getting a bunch of ports at launch with Metroid prime 4 and the first pokemon game that looks good this decade coming too 

 

If they cut this same presentation down to a tight 20 minutes you'd all be calling it the greatest direct of all time.

I forgot bloodborne 2 and pokemon gen 10 as well in 2026. Nintendo Switch will end its second year with a stronger original library than PS5 and xsx have in their 5th 

 

Games cost a LOT to develop now. We need to give credit where credit is due to the last console maker that prioritizes software.

Well, I preordered it but that direct was hilarious for all the wrong reasons. The paid tech demo, endless promo for the blurry camera, the laggy video call, the mouse feature that nobody asked for, the wheelchair basketball game, the jumpscare of Pokemon ZA's still ugly enhanced graphics... I... 

 

That said I think underneath the surface the console itself is exciting. It's kinda worth the upgrade alone for being much more powerful than the og Switch. And as always buying a new console is going to be a long term investment, this is just the launch and obviously they aren't going to blow their whole load at once. This thing will be going well into the 2030s and it seems like a promising start memes aside.

I held off finishing ToTK, Echoes of Wisdom, Xenoblade for the Switch so I WILL be busy with the Switch 2 until Pokemon za, Metroid, DK, Kirby, and Terri Joe sports. It's definitely not as dry as the PS5 launch from what I remember.
