God, her Oppenheimer review is INFURIATING 

 

saying that she’s not interested in “getting physics” and putting that as a negative when the movie is LITERALLY about the invention of the atomic bomb… like what was she expecting?? Black Widow and Shazam to show up or something? 

 

and complaining that specks of dust on her film print were distracting 

 

sorry for the rant, but I truly don’t understand how she has any legitimacy when it comes to reviewing movies that aren’t for nerds

Lack of Easter eggs

No end credits scene

No cameos or surprises

I just got out of Oppenheimer and I thought it was terrific  I get she didn't like it but her review I-

She’s insane for thinking Barbie is an awards contender  its literally „liberal feminism: the movie“ with the same platitudes thrown around like you find them on international women’s day posts on corporate IG pages. Actually, most of it was written like a Netflix production these days, strong woman monologue and token trans Barbie and black major Barbie included. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, but when this is all the film has to offer then maybe it’s not as profound as it pretends to be. 

 

my bf is angry at me/her because he didn’t want to see Barbie until I showed him her non spoiler review and all this „smart! Oscar film masquerading as blockbuster!“ talk made him want to see it, only for us to be confronted with the lamest storytelling since the last MCU film

The thing is... it probably will be nominated for some Oscars. The past 2 Grets Gerwig films have gotten in and this one is well-received so it'll probably get a few nominations at least

You're right about the feminism but forgot that the Oscars like that kind of thing. It'll snatch many technicals and get an adapted nom.

Barbie is definitely a Blockbuster  but it’s entertaining and funny. So i don’t see the problem. It definitely won’t appeal to everyone, but its message is simple enough for even a kid to understand. It achieves its goal.

 

also I rather watch a comedy about social commentary then a 3 hour movie of old white men making a weapon of War

When she switches up on the Marvels once it becomes the 2nd biggest Superhero Movie this year. Bookmark Me. 😆 

 

Also what is she talking about no fanfare💀 the Marvels trailer is the fastest watched, and most positive trailer for Marvel since Wakanda Forever. 🤣

 

that’s probably why her own viewers are dragging her in the comments. She dismisses facts and puts her own opinions as fact😭 it’s one thing to say a movie ain’t for you or looks bad. But then again this is coming from the woman who was literally hating Margot Robbie every livestream for Months and saying Barbie and Mario would fail🤣 like are we just gonna forget that?

I have to say I watched the trailer and I was bored. Maybe it's because I simply do not care fro Captain Marvel and Brie Larson, but it looks very Disney+ey imo
