Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Her starting the Black Panther trailer with talking about how there are too many women on the poster not even 30 seconds in and she is wilding about pleasing male viewers.
boxoffice Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 She really needs to drop this “too many women” narrative. It’s already old and she keeps pushing it on every single video.
Char-Li Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 6 hours ago, Arcadius said: Girl enough Her complaints that the movie is “too female centric” sound very dumb since Namor (a HUGE character) has been heavily featured in almost every piece of promo material that I’ve seen for the movie. Namor’s inclusion should keep the “Marvel is getting rid of male heroes” fanboys at bay. Shut up, Grace.

Dark Phoenix Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 The way Birds of Prey sent her off on this path ? but she has a point BP2 Will underperform and The Woman King already did it a few weeks ago.

Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Wakanda forever isn’t gonna underperform. Everyone i know has been talking about it non-stop. Don’t be suprise if the opening weekend starts to break records.
D_Man3379 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Yeah If you watch her old videos, she always had this way of thinking when it comes to women in the media/entertainment industry.

Blade Runner Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Well, the video was better than expected. Whew...

GraceRandolph Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 She really filleted Eichner. I hate to admit it, but her point about critics being afraid to be honest about Bros is pretty on point. I was already feeling a rose-tinted view of Love, Simon from critics as well. It just makes gays look bad.
aayAlex Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Ms Grace said nothing but the truth on this weeks MM
Guest Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I’m 12 minutes in and she still hasn’t taken her foot off Billy’s neck
Arcadius Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 She hit the nail on the head about these famous writers in Hollywood who feel as if they should be the star of their own work. It simply does not work for everyone and I can't believe Billy Eichner thought he was popular enough to lead a big theatrical rom-com in 2022.
Cloy Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 (edited) But wasn't it Grace that said Love, Simon was a box office flop? Wasn't it Grace that said that flop was due to lack of interest in LGBT projects? Didn't she say the same thing about Moonlight and Call Me By Your Name? Why is she backtracking now? Supporting LGBT characters are much different than LGBT leads. The supporting characters is not who the show is based on. Often times, it is a subplot people can skip over if they want to and it takes nothing from the show. That is completely different from having a straight up and down LGBT show that is predominately LGBT and not having LGBT characters thrown in an otherwise straight world. How many shows and movies like that are actually successful? And then when they are, there are straight actors playing the lead like Heartstoppers, which she quoted. The most important thing of all is, just because a show like Euphoria gets 20 million views with its LGBT themes doesn't mean that 20 million people would show up to the BO opening night if it was a major motion picture. That was the point Billy was trying to make. It doesn't matter who was in the role, most people weren't going to turn up to see it beyond a 15m projection. And I wish people would stop glossing over that and trying to be PC about it. Homophobia is alive and well and has been seeing an uptick due to conservative values slowly but surely coming back. It's totally fair for Grace to say that LGBT leads aren't groundbreaking anymore. They just aren't, especially in comedies. The marketing never should've emphasized the groundbreaking nature of Bros, it clearly misfired.
orange22 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 She was dragging Miss Eichner left and right his Jessica Chastain moment

Long story short: What LGBT film that wasn't about a specific person opened big at the box office with or without a A-list lead LGBT or not?
