Kandy isn’t the strongest queen ever but she has some obvious strengths, Xunami is like Kandy without any of her strengths which.. is not a good sign

Great first episode. I'm really feeling Mirage. I didn't care for Michelle Visage's critique of her performance. The heel-clacking was iconic.

This premiere was an all timer

 

The legendary Charlize Theron showing up the werkroom, judging panel,  and the Untucked lounge  

 

The incredible runways and fun talent shows  Mini challenge was fun too.

 

Rate A Queen being exactly like the rankings from The Circle  As a huge fan of The Circle,  that felt so meta. Even down to "And That's The Tea" feeling like "Circle, Send Message".

 

Here's how I think the top 2 did:

 

Talent: Sapphira > Q

Runway: Q >>>>>>>>> Sapphira (and everyone else)

Lipsync: Sapphira (both amazing and a hot mess,  the breast plate and how she controlled it ) >>>>>>> Q

Great episode.  Dawn feels like a hybrid of Willow Pill & Crystal Method.

The show has gotten way too predictable and they are doing super weird random inserts to try to "TWIST" it up like this circle twist but it's not the problem when they leave everything else the same or repeated from other seasons. I am hoping later challenges are more fresh but this premiere was a rough start imo.

 

Split premiere again? Boring. I am SO over this. I like when they all meet each other immediately.

Variety show as the premiere again? Boring. I'm honestly about ready for this challenge to get the boot. Or they need to change something about it. 

RuVeal themed runway? Boring. 

 

They don't need to keep adding new twists to keep the show interesting, but they do need to make sure they're keeping the existing ideas fresh that are essentially the template of the whole show like the premieres, challenges, and runway themes. They are just straight up recycling, copying, and pasting the majority of the foundation of the show season to season now.

 

The girls seem great, so it's not their fault at all I'm whelmed by this premiere. This may be my drag race burn-out speaking for me rn and maybe I watched too many international seasons last year lol.

Dawn is the first time I REALLY feel older than a queen's target audience (I'm 28).  She is clearly for the younger Drag Race fans, everything about her.

Because the girls aren’t seasoned and the ones that are are rusty because of the pandemic and not performing for 2+ years.

I don't like Dawn's archetype of kooky-so-wacky zoomerness, but she seems much more tolerable than w*llow so far

the ep was cute but when compared to S15? wow the gaggy sasha colby, the twin, the 40 inches, etc. 

this was mid premiere.

I’m genuinely confused about the negative reactions, this felt like a return to form for the show for me. 
 

I was entertainT. The girls really came through with their talent shows & Xunami was also there. 
 

Saphirra  Instantly one of the greatest lipsyncs in the history of this franchise. The boob bib bouncing to the floor at the end in sync with the music? You could not script such a perfect moment.
