Alexis deserved second place :gaycat2:

 

They both did excellent jobs in the Rusical—and both had the best vocals, with Jimbo in 3rd place on that front—but Jessica had the edge in the Rusical for her acting and theatricality. Alexis had the edge on the runway. In the end, we all know the challenge matters more than the runway, so that means Jessica should have won.

But at least we can all agree Kandy didn't deserve. Average performance, terrible runway.

Yup and it’s BEEN this way. I always fast forward these episodes to the runway because whatever the queens do doesn’t matter so I refuse to sit through all these grating vocals

Juju and Alexis just by sheer virtue of being themselves made AS5 infinitely more watchable than this imo even if Alexis' elimination is up there for me in one of the all-time most infuriating and undeserved eliminations ever on the show. Plus AS5 briefly had the Derrick/India drama, Derrick on the press tour was lowkey more entertaining than anything to come out of AS8. :rip:

Some thoughts...

 

Jaymes being gagged is sending me... 0 wins and 2 bottoms is not a better track record than 1 win 3 bottoms (Kahanna). Also Jaymes was very clearly protected from the bottom in episode 1 and I'm sure the girls remember that. Also this "Kandy sent home the bigger competition" is a kii too. Jaymes wasn't a clear winner in any challenge thus far and likely wasn't making top four.

 

Jessica should've won. Her number and runway were both tens. I understood Alexis not being in the top for the challenge but her runway was much better than Kandy and Lala... I feel like everyone could've been critiqued. Jimbo's runway absolutely saved her.

 

Kandy's number was the winning number - regardless of who did it. She was smart to fight for it.

 

Darienne is winning the fame games unless Kahanna misses final four (which, let's be real. is likely).

Also just rewatched it and time has been kind to AS1 imo. Like I def understand why it was hated when it came out and stayed that way for so long when it took so long for AS2, but now that it has been a while and most of those queens have had the chance to come back for a regular AS season and don't feel wasted on it, it is a VERY entertaining quick little watch.

 

Iconic cast, some weird as hell challenges that didn't necessarily work but still fun to see the show experimenting way more than they do now, the single best Untucked episode of any AS season, some memorable lip syncs, Tammie dragging Michelle on the main stage, etc. The main thing that ages it in a bad way are the little micro-aggressions from the other casts towards Yara and Alexis.

Also I'm gonna be sooo annoyed if Jaymes wins the fame games just by virtue of having that soft little white girl fan base on lock due to her vibe and association with Trixie. You just know the rest of her runway package is gonna be a bunch of boots :rip:

Otherwise OK results though. Jaymes would have given more than Kahanna but she'll be gone in the next episode regardless.

Kandy had no business winning this week. The judges praising her vocals when they clearly auto-tuned the sh*t out of it. :skull:


Win should’ve gone to Alexis or Jessica. Kahanna shouldn’t have been in the bottom, her performance wasn’t that bad and her look was one of the best ones.
 

Honestly, Jimbo should’ve been in the bottom. Her choreo was messy and the performance was pretty forgettable overall. This is coming from a Jimbo stan btw

Now sis, Jaymes is also a C-tier queen. They're both mainly known for being good at just a few isolated skills that many other queens on and off the cast are better at (Jaymes with acting/comedy, Kahanna with runways/performance) and then bad to meh at everything else they are tasked with.

They did not even try to hide the Kandy musical redemption bullshit they pushed. Kandy’s voice was auto tuned and they started dubbing in vocals from the judges at parts. Can she go home already? 
 

Kahanna was boring and flubbed her lip syncing in her number. Jaymes was actually okay given the choreo and lyrics she had to sing. Nothing special but not the worst. Jessica was good. One of the better performances. Alexis had arguably the most technically choreo and vocals of all of them. Lala was entertaining. Jimbo was another one that wasn’t bad but just didn’t stand out. 
 

kahanna’s runway was predictable. Jaymes’s look was okay but nothing special. Kandy walked down the runway in a craft store version of the original look. Jessica’s runway was great. Lala… oh Lala… why? Alexis’s runway was solid too! Jimbo’s runway was good. A little different than what I’m used to seeing from her which is good.
