Jewels clearly won that but it would be unfathomable if they sent onya home when she had been demolishing the competition

Not that Jewels is stellar either. The lip-sync smackdown will be a skip this year I fear.

Not a single lipsync gagged me this season. Lydia vs Arietty was the closest.

Onya won for me, Jewels got too excited and started doing stunts that don't go with or match the pace of the song. 
 

They tried not to show us Onyas face cause her lipsynch is tight and flawless and she does not miss a WORD.

I love Onya. But last week this thread went on about Lana SLAAAYING Sam (she didn't. She might have maybe won but didn't wash Sam). And now this week we wanna pretend Onya beat jewels? Again/ I love Onya..:but Jewels washed her in that lip sync. Onya was flailing around hoping to take attention away from jewels

sorry to be off topic somewhat but i was listening to Jinkx Monsoon's best song (Take it Back) and realized that the artwork on both digital release and my official CD copy are terribly edited so i took the digital release textless image and cropped it and added the text onto that.

 

full size digital release image (the very tiny and unnoticeable top and the very noticeable bottom are the issue)

I knew it was gonna be a double shantay well before the lipsync I think everyone did great this episode

two facts:

 

• Lana wiped. the. floor. with Sam in the Illusion lip sync but they were not sending home Sam with two wins and no bottom placements when it was Lana's 4th time

• Jewels "won" the lip sync but similarly, it was her second time in the bottom 2 with 1 win vs Onya who had never placed in the bottom with 4 wins … they would never in any conceivable scenario cut Onya, and the theme of the episode warranted a double save

 

none of that^ is hard to understand .. i know yall aren't gonna sit here and pretend Sam's stiff ass held a candle to Lana's Illusion lip sync :toofunny3: but of course they kept Sam ! track record matters !

Oop Onya is lucky she has 4 wins and no bottoms, Jewels ate her up, but there's no way to eliminate Onya, she's too good. 

 

I'm.. a little surprised Onya didn't eat up 1 Thing like I thought she would. When I saw the lipsync start and that was the song, I was already getting ready to say bye to Jewels. :rip: 

 

Great episode! Sam devoured. I think that was one of the best makeovers we've gotten tbh! A lot more creative and thematic approaches this time.

Watching right now.  Wow. What  a great episode with the parents. I understand why suzie is her biggest cheerleader. I can empathize with her more now.  Idk I feel bad for her and she became human now. Just all their family dynamics were beautiful. 😍

I think I am most impressed with Jewels her lipsync skills, she moves like water, the most natural one. However there is no structure nor build-up. 

 

But yeah this season was lacking skilled dancers and skilled seamstress imo. 

 

It seems like they wanted camp, but it backfired.

Hmm i liked Onya a bit more on the lipsync but Jewels was cute too

Onya is proof that you just need to be a phenomenal actor to make it far on drag race. The drag aesthetic is irrelevant. You can be a phenom dancer or posses talent in fashion design but that will never supersede the hierarchy of "good at acting."   Acting good  far outweighs anything period. Onya is by no means the whole package (bc of her abysmal drag.) She probably does deserve to win though but this season didn't have any star quality big hittters. Whoever wins will look like a filler alongside all the previous season winners. All who have star quality. None of these top 5 girls do.
