This may be a long post but whatever, I'm Jasmine Masters and I have something to say!

 

First of all, I thought everyone in the talent show did well. It was actually more entertaining than the last few ones we've seen on US seasons. I was very impressed by Plastique, Channel, Gottmik, Nina and Shannel (basically all the queens that didn't get in the top 3 nnnnn :skull:) so imagine my shock when none of them won. I love them but no one between Angeria, Roxxxy and Vanjie deserved to win the challenge.

 

But even getting over that, the top 3 lip sync was nothing to gag over. I thought all of them gave a very safe lip sync and it could've gone either way. Maybe Roxxxy did a liiiiitle better, but it was barely noticeable lbr so basing the decision on that only all 3 of them could've won.

 

This season lost me for a number of reasons, but some decisions truly had no sense. Propping Plastique up all season long only for her to miss the top 3 (with a great performance and sickening finale look), Jorgeous and Shannel having an upwards trajectory (and positive storyline) in the last episodes only for it to stop inexplicably at the finale (they also had great performances and solid finale looks), Gottmik being discarded altogether as a contestant after the first couple of episodes, Nina also did really good all things considered.

 

Meanwhile, I could argue that Angeria and Vanjie had very lowkey edits in the last few episodes, so the sudden rise to the top feels kinda strange. It's not that it's undeserved (well, for Vanjie maybe it is but that's another discussion), but from a storytelling perspective it's quite jarring. The only one who I felt dominated the season both from a storytelling and competition perspective was Roxxxy, but I do believe that she's also benefited from some payola and I would've been fine if production did that only to solidify her as a winner, but that also didn't happen so... What was the reason? :skull: As a general comment on Roxxxy though, as much as I love her and think she's a great drag queen, I genuinely don't believe this was the best showing for her on the show.

 

So yeah, all this to say that I'm happy that Angie has won but she kinda doesn't feel like the rightful winner. Not because she doesn't deserves it, let's be clear, but just because they kinda never painted her as one in all these weeks, Roxxxy definitely had that treatment. I would've loved to see Roxxxy crowned because lbr she deserves it, plus Angeria could've really shined in a vs The World/Global All Stars format considering how many queens from all over the world she knows (strange that production didn't think of that).

 

Congrats to Angie, she's a smart, funny, fierce and lovable queen. I'm very happy for her and hope her career will grow even more after this :clap3:

The way this season has had NO impact :skull:

 

No iconic memes

No viral moments

No prize

No stakes 

 

WOW needs to scrap AS and focus purely on Global. I'd rather see interesting international queens compete than the same American girls over and over :deadbanana2:

The way Roxxxy lost the crown TWICE against an underdog she had drama with during the season

 

And lost her first lip sync ever after a long (the longest?) streak of wins

I actually enjoyed the talent show and runway, but the results were a bit... confusing.

 

First of all, the Top2 from the talent show was CRAZY :doc: Most of the girls did well, but I thought it should've been Plastique and either Shannel or Jorgeous. 

 

The overall Top3 wasn't bad, but just a bit weird.

Angeria should've been up there in general, but her winning the talent made no sense. I ain't mad though, like I said, she deserved overall.

Vanjie though... love her, but she shouldn't have been up there. Not based on the talent show nor the overall competition. Should've been Plastique up there.

 

Congrats to Angie :heart2: She was for sure an important competitor this season and she for sure deserved Top3. 

Her winning is not really where I saw it going though... For me the only two queens who screamed winner based on the season were Roxxxy and Plastique. I'm not mad though, love Angeria, but yeah, something about this win feels a little bit odd.

- main storyline of the season with Roxxxy

- snipped 3 times only to finish ahead of everyone with 6 badges

- charisma for days

- an amazing, versatile and all-round performer

- fantastic showing both seasons

- a sweetheart, a true fan of the show and a vocal supporter of international queens

 

Agree to disagree, but no amount of hate does miss Angie deserve thank you

One of the bigger conversations during this season was the old school / new school drag divide. You saw it as soon as they cast Roxxxy and Shannel. You saw it in the lipsyncs. Even the girls talked about it a little bit.

 

Would've made for a satisfying winner narrative with a Roxxxy win I think. I dunno. Kinda pressed still!

That being said, putting Vanjie in the top 2 for the talent show was a choice.

Plastique having a great talent show performance AND runway.

 

Her slaying 10/11 episodes and then getting no acknowledgement in the finale.

 

None of the badges meaning anything and no extra money given for winning them.

And not to hate too much on Angie buuuuut... her runway package might be one of the worst on a modern All Stars :rip: Like she wore some bad stuff y'all.

 

And even when she wore some ok stuff she would mess it up with bad styling. Some of those wigs...

also roxxy should have started stronger. She had the chance to stomp but just did ok

haven't gotten to the winner but Vanjie winning the talent show? yeah this show is done for. I already know they're going to rob Plastique for absolute disrespect and filth :ace:

Shannel bringing an actual talent to the talent show and getting paid dust :gaycat6: I wish they'd keep the lip syncs for the LaLaPaRuza and make the queens show another talent moving forward.

Angeria :rip:there's just no way this was a real season. Plastique delivering episode 1 to the finale, just for Vanjie and Angelia to rig themselves into the finale lip sync and one of them win.:deadbanana4:

nnn just actually watched the talent show... We all agree it should've been a Plastique / Shannel top two, right? Like... I watched but those were the only fresh acts I saw on stage.

Im not gonna bother to watch the episode ... anyways the only episode i watched the 6 weeks was the lalaparuza 

 

This was definitely the worst season ever existed
