He didn’t have symptoms when I was around him initially but they showed days later, similarly to me. But his symptoms are much worse than mine, mostly given his neuropathy, high blood pressure and age. Terrified mostly of losing my sense of smell and things longer term, but for now just feels like a bad cold. Although it’s been days and I’m still testing positive. I’m 100% positive it’s the J.1 strain. If we hadn’t gotten vaccinated again in October this would’ve been ten times worse. The latest vaccine uptake rates are abysmal, it’s really sad. I'm so sorry you got it, I hope your symptoms continue to be mild and you don't have any lasting symptoms once it's run its course. 1

Vermillion Posted February 10 Posted February 10 @Maneater @Twixters Not sure on your individualized situations, financial standing or belief in any holistic approaches, but I’ll leave this link here from early on in the pandemic I read. Seems to have been recently updated. The jury’s still out on inflammatory overreaction from taking a vitamin while you’re positive but if not I would, including zinc and D3. https://www.kellyharringtonrd.com/post/how-to-get-smell-and-taste-back-after-covid-19
Genius1111 Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Four major nonprofits that rose to prominence during the coronavirus pandemic by capitalizing on the spread of medical misinformation collectively gained more than $118 million between 2020 and 2022, enabling the organizations to deepen their influence in statehouses, courtrooms and communities across the country, a Washington Post analysis of tax records shows. Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine group founded by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., received $23.5 million in contributions, grants and other revenue in 2022 alone — eight times what it collected the year before the pandemic began — allowing it to expand its state-based lobbying operations to cover half the country. Another influential anti-vaccine group, Informed Consent Action Network, nearly quadrupled its revenue during that time to about $13.4 million in 2022, giving it the resources to finance lawsuits seeking to roll back vaccine requirements as Americans’ faith in vaccines drops. Two other groups, Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance and America’s Frontline Doctors, went from receiving $1 million combined when they formed in 2020 to collecting more than $21 million combined in 2022, according to the latest tax filings available for the groups. ____ "Nonprofits"

Vermillion Posted March 2 Posted March 2 @Eat The Acid https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35853589/ This was of Omicron but released in 2023 and JN.1 is more infectious. Regardless of symptom improvement it determined that… Day 5: 83% of people are still infectious Day 7: 52% Day 10: 13% Day 14: 8% The CDC’s prior guidance was 5 days, that’s it. The notion that the trade-off is a worse burden when considering Long Covid is patently false.
