Calling it quits Demon's Souls Remake. I beat the original years ago somehow, but I just hate this game so much (both versions). 2/10

My bf gifted me the remake for my bday 2 years ago and I struggled playing as a mage (which I chose because everyone says it makes the game a cake walk—not true for me) and dropped it after a few hours. I got a hankering to play a Souls game after watching the new Dark Souls world record speed run recently and thought I would try a strength build in Demon's Souls, which is normally how I play. I beat all the Archdemons just between yesterday and today, but 1 fight today with King Allant and I found out he PERMANENTLY reduces your level/stats with his soul drain attack. Sooooooo fuckiing stupid. I hate just about everything about this game, so I'm not gonna fall for the sunk cost fallacy. Instead I'll play a game that is fun in literally any way because this game is anti-fun from start to finish. I have truly hated every moment of playing this remake. I only wanted to "prove" to my bf that I could beat it but I don't care anymore. We both know I could beat it if I really wanted to, but I don't want to.

King Allant's soul drain attack is extremely highly telegraphed, and is one of his easier to dodge though? Like if you're losing THAT many levels to that attack, that's not a problem with the game :rip:

It only happened once and that was enough to send me over the edge since I just wasn't having fun with the game :toofunny3: Also yes I'm just that bad lol

Yeah, if you're not having fun with it in general, definitely don't force it nn

But if you made it all the way to King Allant, you can't really be that terrible at the game. I mean he's the final actual boss.

I'm just watching Wu Kong play throughs on YouTube. Honestly it looks amazing and fun.

I thought it was gonna be like a Souls game. And I hate those type of games. But this seems more combat and exploration oriented then Difficult just for the sake of being Hard. Plus the visuals and cinematics I've seen so far look Peak. Assassin creed was gonna be the next game I buy, but I might buy this to fill the time

Finished Ratchet & Clank Size Matters just now. Honestly still one of my favorites :1stplace:

- Pokitaru still lives rent free in my head (hench my username haha)

- Ryllus is very memorable and still feels oddly mysterious.

- Kalidon feels straight out of R&C 2002 in the best way possible

- Dreamtime you will forever be one of the R&C levels

- Metalis visually also feels so R&C 2002 coded, very cozy

- Challax's nature themes are still really cool. I have a lot of memories of this level.

- Dayni Moon is incredible. Favorite level in the game!

- The level inside Clank feels so modern, like a beta A Crack In Time level.

Also, if you sit through the whole credits scene, the PlayStation 5's trophy videos system is set to give you the game completion trophy video when

the tribute to Dan Johnson plays :weeps:

10/10 game.

They had no budget, half the standard team size, a headache of limitations from the PSP to respect, and still delivered a good Ratchet & Clank game. :1stplace:

Also, I beat this game without any armor items equipped. It's basically Crash Bandicoot in this method because even with max HP most enemies kill you in 1/2 hits but if you focus to max out the robots and rocket launcher, always have bubble shield on, you'll make it

I wonder if I can do this without the bubble shield if I get titan weapons...

Life is Strange: True Colors

I didn't like the pacing, everything took so long. Predictable story but compelling and overall I was impressed by how decent this game is.

Spoiler

I chose to walk away from Charlotte's emotions, but take in the Policeman's. Apparently that was the correct thing to do, as they will back you up at the council meeting.

The one who didn't have my back was that long bearded guy. You could gain his trust at the LARP thing but I hated that segment so I rushed it.

I forgave Jed.

Ryan was my love interest and I chose to stay in Haven with him.

I finished Kena: Bridge of Spirits this morning! At first I thought it was kinda messy and unfocused but as I made my way through the game and understood how to play I grew to like it a lot. The game is way harder than I would have ever expected it would be, but at the same time the fights don't feel cheap or unfair. I definitely had to try most of the bosses multiple times before I could beat them but it was fun slowly getting better and better and figuring out how to take down each one. I don't think a sequel has been announced but I would certainly play one!

Finally got around to playing Borderlands 3, now that the 4th game has been announced. I bought 3 on release date but dropped it like halfway through :rip:

Well, it will probably be mid 2025 or late 2025. For now many bugs are being reported every day.

But also can't wait for a fresh server, the late game gets boring for me pretty fast :x

I've been wanting to get into Unity but what I read about the servers is a bit worrying... how playable is it now? Also... if someone can help me get two co-op trophies (revive a partner, perform 10 co-op sync kills) some time, I'll appreciate it! :bird:

The first month was rough but the team fixed a looooot of bugs within the first month!

I wouldn't be surprised if they end up pushing the official release because I always thought 3 months was way too short of a beta test to be sufficient, but who knows with them...!

It's pretty playable. I played on the mono acc server 4 and it was pretty good, although since it's just a beta server, there aren't as many players as there were like a month ago. I think that right now there's also a double exp if I'm not wrong.

I have no idea what two co-op trophies are or what do you mean by that :D

Trophies are achievements in the PS system, in-game goals to complete. Once you unlock them all you get the Platinum trophy. Each game has its trophy list and there's a big community of gamers being "trophy hunters".

I don't consider myself too much of a trophy hunter cause usually these people go for easy, quick games for the sake of collecting platinums. I like to platinum the games I play to make the most out of my experience... and OCD :rip:

Taste!

It's between Astro Bot and FF7 Rebirth, for me. Both of these games have that element of surprise and wonder around every corner, that make them a true joy to play through

I've beaten a couple of games in the last week

I bought Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary edition a couple of months ago when it came out. I had previously played the game on PS3 probably 10 years ago, I played on Switch this time. In typical fashion for me I played like 5 hrs of the game the first week that I bought it and then I dropped it pretty much until I finished it just recently :rip: I've honestly never played a game quite like this before, I think I've read that it's Zelda-like but I've never really played a Zelda game yet so that doesn't resonate with me. The world/vibe of the game is one of its highlights imo, I like the photography of the fauna of Hillys more than any other gameplay aspect of BG&E probably. The story is pretty great as far as video games go and Jade is an actual icon who deserves her sequel. I will say that I love the first few hours of the game, the middle TANKS a bit, (boring locations/bad stealth sections) and then the ending stretch picks it back up. If you've never played but are into 2000's era games I would definitely check it out!

Then a few days ago I platinum'd the PS4 version of Jak and Daxter. It really holds up as one of PlayStation's best platformers, and probably just of the genre in general. I had also already played this game on PS3 as a teen. Again, the world is such a highlight and each level really shines. Finding all of the collectibles is a challenge but never feels impossible, if I was ever missing something I was always pretty sure I knew where it would be in the level. Eye…. Appreciate its sequels for what they are but this is undoubtedly the best game in its series for me. My only rant that could def just be me was that the ps5 controller latency seemed HORRIBLE in this game, double jumping etc was a nightmare :rip: maybe the game is just like that and I don't remember from when I played years ago but it was taking me out this playthru

I finished the first layer of Animal Well on Steam Deck but I'm buying it on Switch OLED too to start again and finish the whole game on a better screen

And maybe I'll manage to finish it just in time for new Zelda :duca:

The Plucky Squire

Cute and charming with frustrating bugs. The one command I need to hit to progress in the game became unresponsive, so I'm stuck right near the end of the story. Hopefully a patch is on its way... serves me right for playing on day 1 I guess.
