Nepotism is honestly a really overlooked problem in kpop these days… people always wondering why so many idols debut that are talentless now, this is why.

I always think of Lia whenever nepotism babies in kpop comes up… like no hate to the girl, but she’s the best JYP had for the group?? and the fact that Yuna was chosen after her like huh? 
 

she’s not that great of a vocalist and sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the other members… I’m pretty sure she bought a spot in the group.

For those of us who knew K-pop during the Korean music market crash, it’s incredible to see. There was a time where SNSD were the saviors of female K-pop because they got an album over 100k sales. Now IVE are doing 2.9M pure sales and 1.4B+ digitals in just their debut year (setting an all-time record) and we have another girl group threatening to do even better. This is the biggest win since SJJD and BP broke the 1M barrier for female groups  

its not the same like... at all. like I said, you can only compare the sales and digitals on the year they were released

sjjd was the kpop gg million seller back then - bp was the only million seller in 2020 are not the same as ive, newjeans, kepler, aespa, nmixx, itzy, twice, red velvet etc all selling millions in 2022 be serious

I can name at least 10 idols who come from  wealthy families and they’re as talented as her.  Yuna  was added when somi left. So again no correlation.
