The only mental gymnastics going on are in posts such as yours, where a clear display of goal post moving is going on. Last year RV were dragged for selling low, and now that fans are happy with high sales, suddenly that's wrong and they're being attacked by people like you. It's very transparent and won't fly.

I don't even think it's the concept, it's the music. Songs like Antifragile and Fearless are what they should be making, not Mafia, not Sneakers, and definitely not Cheshire.

The goal posts moving constantly. I remember when certain users here would drag Red Velvet for being smaller than MAMAMOO and GFriend and claim they weren’t even top 3 for their Gen.

 

Now they’ve passed 2M sales in 2022 with just two minis released and NO U.S. distribution deal (7/10 out of the top 10 best-selling girl groups have a U.S. distribution deal) and they’re #4 for best-selling girl groups in 2022. They literally doubled their career album sales in the span of a year because their label finally restocked their album and they started getting extra versions of their new album releases.

I am making this post to ask if it’s possible to either:

 

A) Provide a Spotify playlist of 20-30+ ’essential’ or ‘must-listen’ Kpop songs that I need to/should listen to

or

good for them with that total album sales for a couple of albums  hopefully they will catch up Twice and BP’s current numbers with their next release then, since each group is supposedly in their underperforming era now!

hi, first of all you have TASTE because of Blackpink but this group is really hated here so get ready for a lot of toxicity hahaha

 

and secondly, it's not really 'essential' or 'biggest hits' playlist but if you want to find some new fresh and popular k-pop music or groups to check out I recommend the K-Pop ON! playlist, it was a good start for me personally when I was getting into k-pop

Spotify has some good curated playlists that you can check out (Millenium K-Pop, K-Pop ON!, K-Pop Fresh for new releases). Public user made playlists are better imo atlhough they usually have 300+ songs.

In terms of most popular/biggest/most significant this list was picked by korean music critics and industry people and a better representation of kpop past and present than anything else I've seen(the list itself is from 2020 though os its out of date).
