SM recently got called out for corporate governance issues, though more importantly I suspect it's because Kakao is not on board with KWANGYA and wants to ditch its originator

And a lot of groups are under Kakao, by this logic Weeekly, a GG under IST (formerly Play M, before merging with the THE BOYZ company, always under Kakao) would be more than a one hit wonder with 137k albums sold from 4 mini albums. Don't tell me the Monsta X fans were ITCHYING to see what IVE was gonna serve when they debuted with Eleven.

Otherwise most of their groups would be million sellers and digimons Kakao is not just an entertainment company. Pushing music acts is not its only focus. It provides community service, finance serve, invest service and many others. Melon is owned by Kakao. It has its own TV station and publishing company. Kakao is like Sony or Samsung. Big 4 is like RCA Records or Columbia Records. All Big 4 agencies work with and rely on Kakao to some extent because they need its channels to promote and publish. It’s stupid to say that Kakao gives less exposure and privilege than Big 4 Edited May 8, 2022 by Wake Up
Sugden Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 i wonder if aespa is gonna flop on their next comeback now that they have all this competition and the ningning mess happened

Monsta X's debut album sold a thousand copies in the first week WJSN also was promoting their debut song for months to sell anything. That's why they relied on Produce shows to bulid a fandom before debut and it worked with IVE. Cravity too but they are clearly very lost with them so they haven't build on it.

Antunes Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 when ive serves something like this for their japanese debut.... the impact, the collapse, the international implications etc
DanyelP23 Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Just started watching the JYPig x PSY audition show LOUD because I'm bored. Not them making it like they were looking for GLOBAL stars/idols when TNX (the PNATION group that's gonna debut) is 6 koreans and from the 5 guys remaining at JYPE there's only 1 non korean trainee

Dialamba Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Next level is a mega smash hit at this point they’re definitely not replicating its success as long they stay consistent that’s not really important.

And even if Savage hasn't reached national hit status like NL, it's still a big hit by anyone's standard. "Decline" suggests something negative, but there's nothing negative about Savage's chart performance. Dreams Come True also became a hit despite many people remaking/covering the song in the past.
Rhyme Posted May 8, 2022 Posted May 8, 2022 Hopefully SM scrapped Life's Too Short and any songs similar to it after it made nobody move.

Witnessed ET Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 IVE serving quality music, visuals, charisma and success. They’re doing everything right.

It just gives me a bad feeling that SM thought it was good enough to be a preview at such a hyped event. They should just give those kind of songs to Red Velvet.
