Amazing points she is getting for that Artist Of The Decade title. If only her biggest rival wasn't camping at #1 for more than 3 months...

Well, at least Female Artist of The Decade is almost locked

Thoughts on Midnights being eligible for 6x platinum on it's first anniversary?

OT: The Fearless hate in here is completely justified, we need to celebrate that.

The TV elevated it so much for me, I’ll give her that. Before the TV it was bottom of my discog ranking and now she sits peacefully atop the bottom third :gaycat4:

I fear for the Whitney vocals on Debut TV and Loser TV as they may dethrone Fearless again. Either way, fearless will still have Breathe and You’re Not Sorry so we can celebrate that :clap3:

i do wonder if lover/midnights is the longest concurrent top 10 pair for a female artist.

(for a man, in recent history obviously there's that one who won't go away.)

I tried checking on Pulse Music but they only have data from 1997 to present and I can only think of Celine and Britney smashing with two albums during that period but never with both of them in the top 10 at the same time.

He's also tying the record for multiple albums to spend at least a year in the top 10 with her, but Midnights will probably be her third one and she will extend it

I remember my iconic meltdowns on the album thread only for Midnights to become my favorite pop album of her discography

Hmm, just noticed Midnights is only her 2nd era with 3 radio top 10s.

Not shocking, but it's extra impressive when she's a woman into her 30s now.

I think the longest running pair might be The Third Album and Funny Girl by Barbra Streisand. I believe those two titles accumulated 13 weeks in the top 10 together in the spring/summer of 1964. I think she also charted her first two albums in the top 10 together for 3 weeks.

Barbra's 60's run was quite legendary, especially for female artists of the time. In my opinion, she really is Taylor's only real comparable on the Billboard 200.

The way the rerecording finally pushed Red over Speak Now on my most played albums list, but now that rerecording is going to push Red back down. :rip:

@fridayteenage I'm doing a little digging, I see that Carole King's Tapestry and Music also spent 9 weeks in the top 10 together in late 1971/early 1972. So that tie should be broken soon, if not next week. :chick1:

I think if any women have doubled up like this, it'll be in the 60s/70s when albums were issued much quicker. I did a very quick cursory glance at Aretha's albums and I don't believe she doubled up at all in her late 60s imperial phase. I did a quick glance at Carpenters, Linda Ronstadt, Roberta Flack and Carly Simon too and don't think they did as well.

Midnights is so cleverly written. Just listening to mere Glitch ( one of my favorites actually ) demonstrates how she expanded her Blank Space capacity ( considering that one is one of hers pop gems ) to incorporate nuanced view of the topic at hand.

The album’s sound isn’t that much bombastic, but this airy production actually lets her show strong atributes.

I love Don't Blame Me, but I also kinda want her to push Getaway Car

I hope she pushes both simultaneously. She needs to go to Kahn one more time for a much deserved top tier DBM video (in line with the original era’s visuals) and then direct a short film for Getaway Car :jonny:
