Delusional Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Wait when TS10 is full of self produced and self written ‘Closure’ experimental level masterpieces
Arrows Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 No more country anytime soon! Country radio has completely ditched her, and it would seem like a transgression at this point. Alternative/pop is the way to go, there’s still so much to explore in these genres.
Safe&Sound Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 If she would go back to Country, I hope it sounds like Golden Hour/Same Trailer Different Park

Oh but I must agree with this The fact IBYTAM flopped there
pccp Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Her pop music is the most successful but country and alternative are also very successful. As long as she composes good music like always, she will always be successful. she should have EDM and r&b albums too
wastedpotential Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 The country establishment will never have her back, and that's okay. I can understand why songs like NYD (boring and not really country) and Betty (about lesbianism if you don't pay enough attention) didn't do well, but No Body, No Crime deserved to do a lot better than peak at FIFTY-FOUR on country radio, and IBYTAM would've been a country smash from ANY other artist. The fact that everything she's sent to country radio as the lead artist since 2011 has underperformed or flopped hard is not a good sign. And granted, Taylor doesn't need radio singles to do well, but country listeners aren't huge on Spotify and the radio is where they listen and find new music so she might be stunted without radio

I prefer TS10 being a huge quality pop era, but I don’t think radios are going to dictate anymore what Taylor is going to do, she doesn’t give a ****

I think it was way too wordy, unrelatable, and didn’t have enough of a chorus. But I don’t really think she’ll ever go back to country. She may make some acoustic albums in the future that come close, but I don’t think a full return to country is on the table; it wouldn’t really work with her international audience.

I could see her making a "return to country" album in a decade or two as a side project, and I could see her incorporate country-pop sounds into her music at one point in the future, though I agree that a full on return to Nashville and its isolated country music bubble is probably never happening. Taylor has been too exposed to the greater, wider world to want to go back.

I doubt there’s much more for her to do in country if I’m being honest.
BloodLuster Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 by the time TS10 drops both disco and pop/rock will be rotting she should keep exploring more challenging sounds; a jazz influenced album would be a dream
State of Grace. Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Lover should have been the disco record. Will never forgive her for teasing it. Not here for her going into that route now, especially after Future Nostalgia. Rock album it is. Would also be more of a natural progression from folkmore than disco.
Nick_317 Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Imagine an album full of False GodsA dream literally a dream

We want Jessie Ware disco though, that isn't the same thing Or why not both? Let's get some dance-rock going a la No Doubt's Hella Good
