Also her recent popularity boost has hit harder in those countries than in the US, where she was already at the top and there wasn't much space to grow. Here in Spain I would say 20-somethings are her main demographic but also a lot of teenagers.

I believe that Midnights is actually Most about her and Joe. It makes no sense to write about past situations when she could easily put them on the re-recordings. 1989 and Reputation could easily have 16 vault Songs and some of them could deal about sleepless nights from those years.

When she announced Midnights, my initial reaction was that it's her most uninspired album concept but later on I came to the conclusion that it's actually genius. Post-Lover, Taylor's been able to market her albums in a way that doesn't put emphasis on her current affairs even though she's actively singing about them. She just masterfully spices up the songs to throw everyone off. Like, I can't believe she got away with a song like Renegade because she was still in the folklorian woods. I can't wait to see how she markets her next album, tbh.
