It’s literally just YouTube dying, even for Kpop acts it’s becoming irrelevant. Only Latin acts and other very few one-off examples (like Flowers) have success with music videos these days. Please go and see any of her peers’ YouTube trajectories and they’re just as ‘awful’ - because it’s becoming irrelevant to western music. It’s that simple.

And Bad Bunny's last MV did 5M views in the first 24 hours (released at the same time as the song). The difference is Latin songs are extremely stable because in LatAm a lot of people still use Youtube as their streaming platform. Flowers was also a smash there.

There’s something a bit bitter sweet about the Karma mv tbh …for the first time Taylor looked like a fully grown woman to me. She is stunning in it. She deff looks like a woman in her 30s who is fully confident in herself and knows how to be herself but it’s the first time in music video format she seemed “mature” to me and it is both cool to witness but also kinda sad cuz it’s making me realize I’m older now too. I’m close to my mid twenties and they say you start showing signs of aging at 25  time flies yall :’(

Yep, smash Latin songs tend to perform like videos did a decade ago. Cute debuts, stable streams. Flowers is a true anomaly for western videos, and even then those views are barely a fraction of what they would’ve been had Flowers been the same sized hit in 2016 or 2017.

 

And also despite all this Taylor is usually in the top 5 most streamed artists every day on YouTube, only behind a few Latin acts and Blackpink…

VEVO closing down in 2018, YouTube changing its algorithm and the rise of other streaming platforms was the perfect cocktail to lead to views sharply declining in the late 10s/early 20s. 

 

YouTube music videos in English that were posted in 2023 that have passed 100 million:

1.  Miley Cyrus - Flowers - 450m
2.  PinkPanthress, Ice Spice - Boy's a Liar Pt. 2 - 123m
3.  Miley Cyrus - Flowers (Audio) - 105m

The only other English songs to do 100m+ views on YouTube this year are old ones like See You Again, Uptown Funk, Shape of You, The Gummy Bear Song, etc.

Both thing can be true. She Is very famous in Asia where music videos are still popular. 

So while nobody Is expecting a video to make 40 M First day in 2023 they could do better if made by someone can make you feel the song, and i mean how It sounds.

 

She's a narrator and songwriter so she's good in the visual- concept side but then they miss the rythm a music video should have.

 

All too well for me It's really good.I don't get why someone said It's bad. Yes It's not like nothing special as mini movie but It's a video, and as music video i think it's a very well made music videos. If only everything could be like that.

I bet you think about me was good too. 

 

She should stop this easter eggs thing. It's getting annoying. It force to put thewe scenes often without a context just for the purpose to be "an Ester egg"...so the videos are becoming too much just a sequence of images to put easter eggs.  She needs more narrative.

 

It's not only a midnights things. It's a lest since lover she's doing It.

Just like how she finally mastered camp on Midnights, it seems like she also mastered the dark look in the Karma music video. Looking forward to the reputation vault tracks, visuals, and Don't Blame Me music video 

Ugh the video is so visually pleasing to me. It reminds me a lot of Kpop music videos (from the groups / acts with high budgets and lots of sets). Just down to the way it’s shot and the sets and CGI, and that’s a good thing since they’re kinda the last genre(/industry?) that still makes good videos as a whole.

 

Peep the snakes in the background crawling on the rocks in that scene, she’s so funny. I would love if the reputation cover was in that same outfit / style. It’s pretty much identical hair and makeup except I think it looks better. But the outfit is very expensive looking, perfect to represent reputation TV. Or hopefully we get something similar

You've been commenting about aging so much for the past year . You'll be fine, you're still a baby. Stop worrying about it and maybe try therapy (this is not meant as shade). I'm 28 and I look better than when I did during my early 20s. I don't get as many breakouts as I did back then and I figured out a skincare routine that works for me. Also, my face looks healthier and fuller. Expression lines are not a sign of aging, even some children have them. Even celebrities, with their access to the best skincare regimens money can afford have them.

I'm dying to see what she does with Rep. I'm not really looking forward to any of the re-recordings to be honest because I think they will be botched and the album is too recent to notice any changes in her vocals, but I do hope she finally gives Getaway Car the treatment it deserved. Pushing DBM is gonna be pointless tbh and the OG is gonna have +1B streams by that time.

 

And obviously, I'm perched for the vault songs. Before the Toe break-up, I thought we would get more lovey-dovey songs about him being her king when everyone was lashing her in 2016-2017 but I'm not sure anymore. I just pray she doesn't write other "vault songs" about karma/haters/Kimye because reputation has always been a love album to me contrary to popular beliefs.

I just turned 25 some days ago and I'm aging like wine. As long as you wash your face and stream folklore regularly you will be fine (+genes obv)

 

Also, embrace your age and remember that we f*ggots only start living at 30.

Reputation is more urban/ industrial, but I would love a Greek mythology twist on it like she did in the MV; Persophone having a party in the underworld with her masked demons. Basically her 2018 British vogue cover with ancient greek inspired tunic and jewelry

OMG not you calling me AND being right at the same time tho  I literally have a lump in my throat at the thought of it sometimes. You’re probably right and I should go to counseling for it cuz I think it ultimately stems from a fear of death or something deeper at the core. For now let me vent to you guys on online forums tho plz sis :’(

I just want MVs for DBM and GC more than anything else. And an album cover even better than the OG… the Max songs gonna be rough but with the Jack ones I’m expecting good things at least. GC should be pushed as the single though for sure 

 

Also I’m an OIDSBH but a witchy vigilante-themed video would be a huge collapse… she needs to put the most effort into the Rep TV videos and give us several cause the potential is too big to waste

This is still one of my favorite photoshoots to date. We need a new British Vogue photoshoot, imagine one to coincide with SNTV featuring vintage glam looks.
 

This is one of Her best looks ever, for me:

 

 

I need Her to break back out this amazing outfit (the fact that we have no outtakes??? just vile) and classic waves hairstyle. It looks so sexy and mature and very sleek. Would be even better with red lips and fully black eye makeup, plus just the bleached brows  

I have always wanted Her to do a bleached brows photoshoot with nothing drawn on. Perhaps for Rep TV she could.

 

However this is my favorite look from the original photoshoot for reputation hands down. I can’t believe we have only one photo of this look and it’s just from a random poster. Like why was it ignored like that? Genuinely one of Her best photos ever and I’d prefer the aesthetic for the TV to be more in line with this.
