That Midnights album thread used to be so much fan. This base is just opposite of that.

I'm honestly worried for her safety now cause some people are frankly unhinged. There's a certain Reddit user with a Joe Alwyn (:deadbanana2:) Avi who has been posting about her nonstop for days, I clicked on their profile and it gives off major stalker vibes :rip:

Thankfully, her team is extremely good at keeping her safe, as far as I've seen. She performs to a few hundred thousand people every single weekend and not once has one of the many weirdos on their lists been able to harm her or her fans. I wouldn't worry too much about that.

In all likelihood, some of the more vocal and seemingly-concerning people out there right now, like the one you mentioned, are just sad, lonely, and bitter people who will never do anything but channel their profound misery into a keyboard all day.

Oh wow. So many iconic gifs in that thread. That juice throw on Midnights poster, Midnights storm in village and many more.

I also agree about white people being the most outraged about his supposed affronts to poc while us POC don't give a crap about what that ugly edgelord says because we actually face actual oppression...

Tbh I’m annoyed with Joe staning. I partly think it’s her own fault for portraying him as a flawless boyfriend.( I know that stalker probably doesn’t give a damn about him) but still  some fans pissing me off with this aggressive worshiping over nothing  :weeps:

She really did a great job gaslighting us into thinking he was amazing, but now that they’re split I hear evermore in a whole new light. There’s a sadness in those songs that I’m having a hard time believing was fictional :rip:  (Tolerate it, exile, Coney Island, hell even the lyrics to Renegade a song she featured on… all sound like a woman pleading with a man to get his **** together and love her right.)

People are just "stanning" him cause in their minds they think it'll spite Taylor :gaycat7:. Like, literally, what is there to Stan about him :rip: , his career is going no where and he is barely a passable actor. Hopefully, they'll show up for him when his next project drops :coffee:.

I saw a post here a few pages back that mentioned peace, like the "give you my wild give you a child" line. Taylor was head over heels for that cigarette and didn't seem like she would leave him and wanted a family with him. It's so odd to see her jump to someone else so fast and her friends all dumping Joe right after she would talk to them/hang out with them was odd too.

It's weird some of this fan base is siding with Joe when it's clear he did something to her or was the one to call it off, idk why the woman always gets the **** end of the deal

This! Remember hoax too? That was way too specific to be some story, with the whole blue imagery she always has for Joe

Yeah, I always had this issue that I’ve talked about in here before for the last few years where hoax never seemed to make much sense to me from a narrative point of view (and even in the Disney+ documentary she claimed it was the first song she wrote without really actually having a clear idea of what the song was meant to be) but if you look at it as her singing to Joe it suddenly

makes all the sense in the world. I heard it the other day and it was like hearing it for the first time now that I could actually grasp an understanding of the emotions behind it :rip:

Evermore is very sad album, I always felt like it was cry for help and she was desperate for his attention.

I look at folk+more now as a half assed attempt to save their relationship which would have been rocky at the time. They composed a few songs together, she wrote some “”fictional”” lyrics through the lens of her actual emotions at the time, and she credited him for songs he may or may not have had a part in as some sort of bargaining chip to show her that she really wanted things to work out in the end. “If this is the long haul, how’d we get here so soon.” :jonny:

I was just thinking this the other day - not to speculate too much on a relationship between people who I'll never know, but songs like Champagne Problems and Happiness hit a little different now! The imperfections in their relationship showing through her lyrics seems almost comically obvious now and I feel dumb for not getting it sooner. :rip: Like even Midnights - instead of track five, where she puts the "most emotional" track, being about their relationship in any way, it's a song defined and titled by the line "you're on your own, kid - you always have been." Like if that's the emotional state she was in at what she considers her rawest moment on an album filled with reminiscing about old relationships and thinking about not being valued enough (Bejeweled), I feel like that breakup was signed, sealed, and delivered like a year before it actually happened.

YES!! This exactly. I‘m looking at the album now as a plea for him to commit to being in her everything :jonny:

Damn. That track 5 analysis is spot on. :clap3: amazing. I agree I’m not here to speculate about what happened or pass off these ideas as facts but it’s definitely an interesting theory

The way Sweet Nothing can be a cute love song or Taylor desperately convincing herself that all Joe wanted were "sweet nothings" depending on the order you listen to the album is... something

There's certainly quite a lot of revisionism of the reputation era. The way so many people were dragging the Midnights era then saying the reputation era was much better

That era was basically LWYMMD's first week and the tour. Everything else was uneventful and disappointing. Everyone praises the MVs and begs for JK to come back now but the ones that lived through it know everyone was desperate for her to ditch JK because the videos post LWYMMD were boring. I even remember that Delicate x Transformers edit being a recurrent joke about his videos

This brings me back to Midnights release when my close friend told me “Sweet Nothing” was such a sad song. I was like girl what, it’s a sweet little love song but he told me exactly what you said — he thought she was singing that Joe didn’t really want anything from her :dies: Him being right all along

the reputa era was kind of her worst bc we didn't get interesting stuff for months, the tour and Look release were moments, but other than that... even the Loser era had more stuff going on even if it was traumatizing as ****

Anti-Hero after Snow On The Beach is also interesting... fate kinda warned her that people would drag her for dating such a questionable man
