Achilles. Posted April 23, 2022 Author Posted April 23, 2022 Time for track 4, I think. Out of the Woods > tis the damn season > Don’t Blame Me > exile > I Knew You Were Trouble > Hey Stephen > Speak Now > The Man > A Place in this World
Squall Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 (edited) Is Sweeter Than Fiction going to be on 1989 TV? It made more sense to include it on Red TV I mean, I know it's Taylor + Jack but it fits Red TV more imo Edited April 23, 2022 by Squall

This is the most well liked she's been since like 2008. It's the most acclaimed she's ever been. She managed to do 850k copies of a surprise alternative release with no physical copies in stores for people to buy. She managed to clear 600k with an already 8x Platinum album that came out a decade before and had no pre-release singles. If Taylor has a strong lead that gets radio support and good playlisting from Republic, a few promo slots on the places that still matter (SNL and Fallon, basically), and actually remembers her Twitter and Instagram passwords in the time leading up to the release, I see no reason why she wouldn't have a shot at clearing 1M. Maybe something like 700k pure and 300k SEA would be achievable Yeah exactly this. If Lover opened with like 180K SEA with 2 songs which were almost non events after the first month, I don't see TS10 receiving less than 250k SEA first week
Squall Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Even though I know it wouldn't be enough to chart, would Billboard count The Lakes vinyl towards the Hot 100?
Beyonnaise Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 I finally got the Evermore vinyl from her web store’s latest drop, arrived yesterday and The pristine perfection of her songwriting shines through more than on Spotify, and it sounds so quiet and intimate. I had Folkie and SacRed ahead of it as of yesterday but this has kind of settled the ranking debate in my mind, Evergod is her best album. Whew. I feel like it makes sense though. She was clearly in a creative fever high in summer 2020 and she was only starting to hit her stride with it on Folklore, the Evermore lyrics go even deeper under the surface and are more challenging topically. Ugh. What an alb.
pccp Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Has anyone noticed that track 7 is Taylor's most flop?

Safe&Sound Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 The Archer is so dull and boring I dont remember the last time I finished that song Mostly skipping it after 1st chorus She really released 3 worst tracks as first 3 songs we have ever heard from Lover

I kinda thought that Miss Americana would end it But yeah, that song doesnt get many daily streams either these days That Halsey sound is quickly dated Joel Little really made most of her weakest songs In the other hand, seven deserves much more Idk how this is me farting and explicit affair outstreamed ha
Beyonnaise Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 (edited) Gave Loser a spin on my walk the other day, it mostly holds up, but yeah the Joel tracks are truly the worst of her career. The way he (and Lorde kii) have declined since Pure Heroine is startling. The 12 track Antonoff album hidden on Lover (along with It’s Nice To Have A Friend) >>>>> the full album we got Edited April 24, 2022 by Beyonnaise
Ithinkforme13 Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 It's crazy how Joel Little got 3 of his 4 songs as singles. I know he's had a few, but she seems so adverse to making Jack's songs singles for what ever reason. She really needs somebody in her camp that's not a yes man and can help her make decisions like Scott did.
Shoful Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 What are people talking about? Miss American is one of the few tolerable tracks on Loser. Also seven is an AMAZING track!
By the Water Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Miss Americana is one of her best pop songs Also, YNTCD is more Taylor's fault than Joel

I think it’s interesting that she did 5 songs with Little, and 4 of them are the most overtly political songs of her career. I think she definitely went into those writing sessions with the intention of making ~topical hits~ with him, for some reason. It’s kinda odd that she chose to write about those subjects with a stranger rather than with Jack. I’d love to know the thought process that went into writing those particular songs with that particular collaborator. Now that I’m thinking about it… the Little sessions were the only ones featured in Miss Americana… so she chose to write the ~topical message~ songs with him so that the documentary could delve into those topics. Also, I’m surprised she wasn’t contractually obligated to release I Forgot That You Existed as a single as a condition of writing with Duke/Bells. But knowing her, it probably would’ve been single #5 before covid killed the era.

1989 Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Oops I’m late but Track 3: Treacherous > Love Story > Style > the last great american dynasty > gold rush > Lover > Back To December > Teardrops On My Guitar > I Did Something Bad Track 4: tis the damn season > Out Of The Woods > exile > Speak Now > Don’t Blame Me > I Knew You Were Trouble > Hey Stephen > The Man > A Place In This World

If she really achieves it it can be her biggest achievement of her career. 10 hours ago, Achilles. said: I think so too. Her position right now is giving like, Adele post-21, Gaga post-ASIB universal love. Fortunately Taylor is not dumb enough to squander that on a shitty comeback song or subpar album. 9 hours ago, wastedpotential said: I really do believe it. Maybe something like 700k pure and 300k SEA would be achievable Sistren - I know she can do it. The biggest factor is, I feel, that she needs to announce it and open preorders a few months in advance including vinyls. A few Stan’s might cry about it, but it’s the surest path to the million mark. Vinyls first week, a single that actually makes some waves in a positive way, decent promo on the week it drops, and a little critical acclaim - perfect storm. She’s right at the perfect moment for the lightning to strike - the Red TV era has proven that! I think at this point a new album won’t come until at least November, and maybe not until the rerecordings are done, but I have a hard time believing the goodwill she’s built lately will fade in that time. The real question is kinda whether 1989 TV could do it, tbh
Catch22 Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 At least with Fearless TV & Red TV we 100% knew she's recording something (her tweets). Now it's pure speculation.

P!NK2LOVE Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 The Archer is so… sad. So, so sad. If you get it, you get it.
Prismee Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Holding onto that one purple heart for dear life i can't wait any longer i need Haunted (TV) right now
State of Grace. Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 Here for The GODcher stanning The song revived my hope for the Loser era after the 1-2 PUNCH of MEth! and Calm Down. That said, it's still one of her weakest Track 5s. But that's mostly because the others are just too good.
