When we're wrong, she does literally Loser 2, and then the Loser super-era (aka Loser, City of Loser, The More Loser Chapter, Cruel Summer's single run, the Cruelest Summer EP, the Loser set opening Eras, Loser Live, and now Loser 2) extends another six ******* years and the next tour is the resurrection of Loser Fest :snowman:

With all due respect to your username, you've just described hell on Earth :suburban:

So will ts12 be a return to fun synth pop? Will it be her confessions? Her long awaited Fleetwood Mac rumors cosplay? Her 90s grunge album? Will it be her alt rnb sza cosplay?

I would DIE for that honestly. Electro-disco/full on dance pop/club music is something she never truly explored so far. Confessions On a Dance Floor remains one of my favorite albums of all time and i'd love to see Taylor's take on that kind of sound.

An album like COADF is a dream. I want the transitions and everything :jonny5:

If we're being honest, if she goes pure pop and more upbeat again, I am BEGGING for an album with more songs like Anti-Hero. That thing still stands alone as a singular entity within her discography. I personally like Fortnight better, but it's a very different feeling, much moodier, and Anti-Hero is still my #2 on a list of her best pop singles to date. There's a reason it revived her pop radio career - it's just that good! The way she chose to use her voice is something I especially want her to explore more.

As much as I lash Loser and Getaway Car 2 AKA Cruel Summer, I have to admit that I'm listening to it more in the wake of Loser Live and it really is quite good if you hit skip on the right couple of tracks. :bird:

Praying Godputation T.V. has one soft electropop gem like this in the vault

my worry about Reputation TV coming this year is that re living that era might satiate her craving for a more fun and upbeat / high BPM record. Like she might re live Reputation, feel and sing the bops and then be like "ok! I did that again, was fun! let me go and do more sad girly pop ballads for my fans" which I would not complain about but I think we can ALL agree that we would like something lighter, more fun and bopable for TS12 right? It just fits with where she is at in her personal life and career too so yeah. I hope Rep does not sort of cancel that possibility out.

Lover is indeed a good record. It's just there are a few OBNOXIOUS moments on that album, also the visuals and the packaging was not it. Not to mention Taylor's vibe of feeling like this was her last pop hurrah! I think it left us all feeling a little drained and almost like we all had anticipatory grief lol. Like we all felt the writing was on the wall to some degree before she flipped things around out of NOWHERE with Folklore lol

It's kind of poetic, in a way, that Loser was conceived as a "one last time with pop if you guys like me enough and radio doesn't put me out to pasture yet!" kind of era, then its fan favorite track became the biggest hit of her career a few years later with the insane surge of Taylormania. Like, thank god for her horrible taste in the original Lover singles for letting that moment happen so naturally!

Mmmm I dunno.

Folklore and Evermore got released (emphasis on songwriting and critical acclaim) ---> she releases Fearless and Red T.V. next which are her country smash album and her most critically acclaimed rerecording

Midnights got released ---> Speak Now and 1989 TV, the former being very confessional like Midnights and the latter being very pop heavy like her pop return on Midnights.

TTPD ---> Reputation TV and Debut. Reputa and TTPD Taylor are similar in the sense that critical reception to both albums was mixed initially, both got released after a significant period of popularity and hype and domination within the cultural zeitgeist. Plus TTPD signals some sort of rebirth with The Manuscript being the last song on the Anthology, which would mean Debut TV would be a full circle moment.

There is no way that TS12 isn't bop heavy. It's the right move after a more introspective and darker album.

Not enough Swifties worship I Hate It Here. The song is just very specific and I think eventually it will become a cult classic

On the other hand, Thank You Aimee is... cute but cute in a Dorothea way, cute in a Betty way... You know what I mean.

I Look In People's Windows... The spectacular short song that you are... Sadly most of the songs after you are great lyrically but snoozefests and less captivating melodically-wise.

Sagittarius is likely a song title for the upcoming album I fear

Posted

I'm thinking

Supernova - May release, with a lead single in either late March or early April

Taydirector debut movie soundtrack - Early 2026

Debut TV - Mid 2026

Reputa TV - Late 2026

New tour - 2027

I'd actually love this as an album title (and I know that's the other huge fan theory for what the title could be), but I'm having a hard time conceptualizing the general vibe and sound of such an album in a way that's meaningfully different from what she's done with the better parts of Lover and much of Midnights. And given that Sagittarius is literally the archer, and Midnights is essentially already The Archer: The Album in terms of how it sounds overall, I have to wonder what direction she'd take such an era instead.

I agree, actually I think it could be a cool a** song but as an album title, it'd feel redundant.

For TS12 I actually love Supernova as a possible title, but every title that I like never ends up being the real one. It will be 100% linked to the color orange though, that much is clear to me at least

When the Grammys are done we will get a re-recording.
