I agree that some competition is a good thing but i would love to see this competition come from another pop girl for a change, if not for Taylor it's always men who are at the top

Same. Then again, if it were another pop girl contending her top spot, it would just invite absurd discourse. Taylor releasing anything would be viewed as some desperate attempt to "block" the other girl

OTH not understanding the difference between a clearance sale and a repackage :deadbanana: Not to mention nitpicking one store over a special variant that has already sold over half a million, something that's literally unheard of.

They won't back down after being proven objectively wrong either…. but when we question their intelligence we are the bad guys? :penguin:

It's giving that "Unsold Eras Books at a Target in Philadelphia" thread, down to the same OP :deadbanana2:

Another 25k restock sold out in minutes for that Lover Live from Paris vinyl. Insane. She's sold nearly 200k vinyl for a random ass live EP of 5 year old audio. And some truly dare say she's fading. :deadbanana2:

The way she saw our concerns about the second week and decided to provide a bit of a buffer so the chart run wouldn't be 58-OUT-1-OUT :jonny5:

I wouldn't mind the 1-OUT drags if it gets her another #1 album tbh. :WAP:

Or if Mac Miller doesn't do as strong as his last posthumous album then she could save some for the 2nd week. :lakitu:

Lowkey want her to drop a digital on her website that week of the album with some of the other performances she did. Or finally give us the full Red/Daylight mashup. :hippo:

Let me circle back to having another Fearless TV breakdown since some here are clearly not putting in the effort it deserves.

I know everyone (deservedly) loses their **** over the outro here but I would like to drop a pin at 2:31 and politely request that everyone stop what they're doing and just go sit with that bridge. It's the way I know with absolute certainty that Taylor is one of the greatest and most talented songwriters of all time, because what do you mean she was wasting melodies this strong and catchy on the bridge of a bonus track, where the original version barely cleared 15M streams in a decade and the re-recording, though an improvement on that figure, doesn't even make the list of her 250 most streamed songs and gets fewer streams every day than the audience figure of the least-attended Eras show :deadbanana2:

The amount of melodic talent in the nail of her right pinky as she gamed out the melodies on Fearless is greater than that can be found in basically anyone else working in music. And what's even more astonishing is that this glorious moment isn't even unique. Of the 26 hymns at play, there is only one that I would consider to be short of immaculate perfection (which is why You Are Offkey (feat. Maren Noteless) got a zero from me in the discography rate ddd). It's truly back to back to back to back to back perfection. :jonny5:

WHO IS DOING THIS? WHO IS MAKING SONGS LIKE THIS TODAY, AND THEN STICKING THEM ON FLOP DELUXE VERSIONS OR AT THE BOTTOM OF A 26 TRACK ALBUM OR ON THE SOUNDTRACK OF GODAWFUL ROMCOMS? IT'S VILLAINOUS. :jonny5:

The way She knew this would be buried at the bottom of Sermons Now so She made sure it had a moment and got the chance to shine :jonny5:

We need to wake it up for this song. Her ability to capture the feelings of pining and yearning whew. Songs like this are what brought me to her when I was a child. Out of all the songs on all of the albums she's put out since 2014, this is the LEAST STREAMED SONG?! Even Superman TV cleared with ease?!

I'm no one special, just another wide-eyed girl who's desperately in love with you :'(

I almost linked Superstar in my rant but held back because 'oh, I know people hate it' which just makes me sad now :sosad:

Superstar my shayla I'm so sorry they neglect you so hard I felt peer pressure to ignore you. :sosad:

This is just pure and simple and perfect and classic bumpkin pop. It fills me with so much joy and earnestness, and sadness and realism. What a journey of a song.

I think we should unearth medieval torture devices and use them on people who skip Superstar. It being the least streamed song from an album She owns is a tragedy, and skipping it should be a crime punishable by stoning, maybe drawing and quartering if they do it multiple times :cm:

Tell me about it :toofunny3:

Hilarious how it's "problematic" when Taylor wants to be competitive, as if that's not the WHOLE POINT of the music industry for mainstream artists. People sure as hell never complained back in the day, when it was the "feelings and vibes" artists who were competitive against other women :toofunny3:

It's also hilarious how the whole point of this pink hellhole of a forum is to bash women 24/7, making endless hate threads just because they don't like someone, yet when an artist they don't like wants to be #1 in the charts without even insulting the competition it makes them "evil" somehow. The hypocrisy and lack of self-reflection is really mindblowing :rip:

I just... I feel so angry at the thought of how many people here and on Twitter, and really across the internet, just brush this off as some sort of early-stage, okay album that She made on her way to greatness when she could've literally retired after dropping Fearless and rested on those laurels for another 30 years. It's been overshadowed time and time again by other excellent albums (which get disproportionate amounts of praise), despite being damn near literal perfection from start to finish. It's the most awarded country album of all time, won AOTY years before that was a thing that pop girls could do and is diamond certified with multiple diamond-eligible singles. GIVE IT THE RESPECT IT DESERVES. Some of you (you know who you are :eli:) treat this hymnal right, but the rest of y'all are condemned to hell.

I'm actually really getting riled up can y'all PLEASE start streaming this album so my blood pressure can fall?

Fearless truly is a fantastic album, the way she made such an incredible sophomore effort after the already good first album (yes i know people tend to ignore it now but it truly is a great debut album, especially for an artist who was only 16 when it was released).

Most other artists would've peaked with Fearless, 100%. But she has so much creativity and musical talent that she went on to make an insanely impressive discography to the point that Fearless ended up getting almost ignored :rip:

There really is a reason as to why she's the top female artist of the 21th Century, no one else comes close in terms of discography quality, especially for artists who writes their own songs.

Always fun to see people who allegedly don't care about the charts and stan Real Music and not the McDonald's of Pop (TM) bend over backwards to defend their faves "playing the game", or lose their **** when their fave debuts at #2 instead of #1 :rip:

But when we point this out we get called the Most Oppressed Fandom and similar, so. I don't even care any more, it's useless to argue with people who build their entire (stan) worldview around Taylor being irredeemably evil :rip: not saying all OTHs are like that but...

Anyway, with these Valentine's Day merch drops, it seems unlikely that we'll get any announcement about new music this month. I guess we'll have to wait until after the Super Bowl and the Grammys. :bloo:

What are everyone's expectations? I think we'll get TS12 before Rep TV or Debut TV.

Right? Couldn't those people make it any more blatant? It's beyond obvious all they care about is charts, otherwise they wouldn't be so angry when their faves aren't #1 :toofunny3:

The McDonalds argument is also beyond hilarious when you see who their favorite artists are (Gaga, Britney, Rihanna,...), making the most McDonalds music that ever McDonalded. They literally wet their pants over an album like Joanne yet will tell you that folklore/evermore is "McDonalds" :rip:

Taylor Swift Derangment Syndrome is real, many of her haters are some of the vilest people i've EVER seen online and that's saying something. It's perfectly ok to not be a fan of her obviously but the way those people hate her and the arguments they use is beyond disgusting, always full of misogyny and blatant double standards :rip:

Now ntm on Gar :khalyan2:

But like, I really wanna know what their idea of "McDonald's" is. Is it popular music? (then they also stan hugely popular artists, what do they think "pop" means sksksks :deadbanana4:) Is It singer-songwriter music? (then @ me when their faves makes a Folklore since it's so easy apparently :deadbanana4:)

Is it just music they don't like? :deadbanana4:

They probably call it McDonald's because she releases a lot of new music. They're just jealous because they'd be thrilled if their fav released as much music as Taylor does. :snowman:

It's not supposed to be a rational argument, i also have no clear idea of what they mean by "McDonalds". I think they're saying that purely because of how hugely successful she is, it's pure bitterness :rip:

When it comes to Joanne it's fine if people like that album, i just fail to see how it's any deeper or more artistic than Taylor's supposed "McDonalds" music, that's why i took it as an example.

The McDonald's argument is sooo stupid, it's just an outright false equivalency. People go to McDonald's because it's cheap and readily available, and it doesn't receive glowing reviews either. No food critic is going to say it's top tier food.

Taylor's music is available at the same price, actually often more expensive if it's a longer vinyl pressing etc, than other artists' music. No excuses or comparisons will change the fact that it sells more because people like it more than others. Not to mention her music does receive glowing reviews and is considered top tier by critics (how many universally acclaimed albums in a row did she have before TTPD? A lot)

I mean you can never expect OTH logic to make sense but yeah. If it's about releasing often, then we're Joni Mitchell and The Beatles fast food music in the 70s? ijbol
