Personally, the fact that she focuses on music and doesn’t have 739382 different brand deals or branded items (perfumes, cosmetics, etc) is a plus for me. It makes it obvious how music is truly her passion.

That’s why it sends me when people try to make her the face of capitalism. Like, no denying she’s a huge capitalist and loves money, but most of her peers moved into cosmetics or are always doing brand deals for extra income. Drag her for variants all you want, which everyone else does too, but her music is where her economic focus is. Even with her merch, which is not very good quality sadly, it’s handled by Republic so it is what it is. At least she doesn’t go all out with it and has pretty basic merch items, which are actually priced reasonably compared to all other musicians’ merch (even though I’d still never buy that crap regardless lol).

I hope she never changes this business model and keeps focusing on her music, rather than making money from non-musical avenues.

I agree. I also appreciate that she never takes millions for a private performances like some of her peers.

It's also interesting that she stays away from proper fashion partnerships . Doesn't go to any fashion shows. Doesn't let her makeup artist post what brand she uses.  Doesn't do any commercials except for ones advertising her music/tour.

I was listening to the podcast the Town about the Oscars red carpet and the host asked the expert about Taylor's street wear. And the expert confirmed that Taylor is in control of those outfits and there isn't any money exchanging hands.

She knows how big she is but she isn't going to let anyone else pay money to take advantage of her fanbase.

Does that mean the only #1 albums this year in Australia have been 1989TV, Midnights and Lover?:rip:

I think Kanye and 21 Savage each had a week at #1, but Taylor's at 9 of 11 weeks so far :deadbanana2:

To me, it’s just important that she feels passionate and interested in whatever she’s trying to sell, whether that be music, films, touring, Keds or polaroid cameras. It doesn’t seem like she’s ever really been that interested in fashion or makeup tbh, so it makes sense she wouldn’t go into that world. Her brand is also much stronger without that. But I wouldn’t be against if she really wanted to make a board game or something.

this is definitely true :rip:

I mean, I understand not wanting to be a brand ambassador for high-end fashion houses but her taste level in fashion is truly the pits. I wish she would hire better stylists

I am here for her to undertake board games industry. Actually, it would be such a natural fit for her and would go hand in hand with the music. :celestial4:

For the better and worse Taylor chooses what she wants to wear ( from the town podcast). Her stylist buys some of her clothes based on her wishes but she’s the one making decisions.

She has had the same stylist since 2009.

Well see if she's going to pivot away from music I think she should become an author of trashy erotica novels or a purveyor of expensive cooking oils :ryan3:

Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it chill that you're in my head?
'Cause I know that it's delicate (delicate)
Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it too soon to do this yet?
'Cause I know that it's delicate
Isn't it, isn't it, isn't it?
Isn't it?
Isn't it, isn't it, isn't it?
Isn't it delicate?

You know if we're going with clever plays on her name, I need her to collaborate with a notable Japanese automaker to design and produce a proprietary mass-market car called the Tayota :ryan3:

What about a Taylor themed park?

I'll start on ideas for it: House of Terrors plays ME! on replay for the entire ride.
