The Achilles agenda is spreading. Next we will get the girlies to admit that none of her pop albums are in her top 5. :duca:

Good luck booking that admittance you speak of :ryan3:.

I don't have to admit something that I already knew. :ryan3:

I know what they're about, I just find them immature/surface-level. They have flowery language so people mistakingly think they're deeper than what they are.

I find the persistent anxiety and insecurity of the Lover songs more relatable to me than her preaching about knowing life while being 16. But it's the most natural thing for a 16-year-old to think they have it all figured out only to reach their 20s and realize they know nothing.

Lover is more childlike and immature than Debut to me in the way it conveys its themes. IFTYE has very cringy lines that sound like something a 14-year-old would write "Lived in the shade you were throwing [...] In my feelings more than Drake so yeah". I understand it's a glitter gel pen song, but these lyrics feel very forced and not cleverly written at all which she normally does even in 'fun' songs. MA&THP is a very bad song where she uses high school drama as a metaphor for politics and I find it very childish she went this route. The shouty cringy cheerleading chant in the bridge doesn't help either. Paper Rings is practically a kids bop song for children who pretend to marry eachother during playtime with rings they made in arts & craft. YNTCD, ME! is obvious. INTHAF literally has creepy children in the background singing with a bad beat. Daylight's spoken-word outro is very cringy too "You are what you love"  :ace: :deadbanana:

Aside from these very childish themes, Lover also has very cheap production that has aged badly over time. It felt like a rushed job and there was no quality check behind everything because everyone around her at that time was just "yes men" because they didn't want to upset Taylor who was new to the record label. IFTYE, The Man, MA&THP, INTHAF, etc. Even the Jack Antonoff produced songs were also weak this time round like Paper Rings, Cornelia Street, Daylight.

I stopped reading at your very wrong opinion about paper rings :ryan3:but no wonder lover is still so successful considering the amount of emotion it seems to inspire in the haters as well :ryan3:

You don't have to restore to lying, the album was perched in the top 30 for years before Cruel Summer smashed and is doing 8 million without it :ryan3:. Lover is just a GP favourite :ryan3:

Life is, indeed, just a classroom as perfectly captured in New Romantics ( note that it’s interesting this fact being downplayed when Taylor’s music is discussed despite all those archetypes being born within schools and then growing more outside of it with time ), so Miss Americana slanders are not going to be accepted.

So there's this underrated gem... the way she elevated One Thing up to an 11. Ahhh, that's a classique.

Is that Taylor at 1:19 in the Deadpool trailer or a look-a-like?

I heard Taylor say “I love you, Travis. I’m so proud of you. I’ll be here every season.” as she was hugging and kissing him 🥲❤️.

It’ll be cute when they break up during the TTPD promo cycle
