I wish Miodnights could snatch a final week at #1. She's like 10k copies away from having another week at #1 but that Morgan Wallen album is like IMMORTAL :rip:

I'm so excited for this new album. Kinda eases my upset over YOYOK not being a 4th and final single for Midnights :'( (hoping the song becomes a hit organically in a couple years like Cruel Summer and August :'( )

Unfortunately I don’t think YOYOK would do much on radio. It’s one of my faves but a bit monotonous (not in a bad way, it’s the purposeful melody she wrote it in, but the GP may not like that) until it picks up and explodes. I think Bejeweled was the only song left on Midnights that the GP would eat up.

I hope the new album is more left field but still has songs radio will eat up, not because they’re radio-crafted but just great songs :gaycat4:

With the “Taylor Swift is a climate terrorist” narrative debunked and the Celine snub debunked, I have to mention that the only thing that legitimately made me uncomfortable about the other night was whether Lana was uncomfortable being pulled up on stage. But then I just saw that Lana posted basically a highlight reel with a video of that moment as the first thing that shows up, where she was clearly smiling more than it seemed like in the actual broadcast, so clearly she feels fine too!

Queen of debunking, the girls popping blood vessels right and left all day today are gonna need something new for tomorrow’s news cycle :ryan3:

My one annoyance of the Lana thing is I know a ton of ppl watching at home were probably like "why did she bring Lana on stage? just to awkwardly compliment her?" lol. I kinda wish she emphasized that Lana was on the album that just won hence why she is on stage with her. But you could tell Taylor was just in shock and disbelief she'd won a 4th time. U can tell she genuinly had no clue (hence why she announced Poet's Department during the Best pop album speech because I think she thought that that would be like a consolation win and that she wouldnt win the major categories lol. That explains why the speech in general was a little underwhelming compared to some of her more recent ones.

yeah I totally know what you mean. YOYOK is kinda monotonous and like one track ish. But I would have hoped for like a radio edit or something :'( Hoping the GP can make it a hit just because of the quality like they did with August even tho it was never sent to radio or promoted.

Also I think we will get that with Poet's Department tbh! The Post feature will likely be something commercial enough to become a hit but great enough quality wise to not stick out like a soar thumb in such a conceptual album. So hyped :jonny2:

She’s clearly planning out all these “attacks” against her so she can release REP TV Look What You Made Her Do :jonny5:

hope midnights stays top 10 through poets release week, that would put her past jagged little pill

and then the US second leg/hype from poets pushes her past 21

:clap3:

i think aoty is worth at least twice as much as roty or soty. if we give aoty 2 points & the others 1 point:

Taylor 8

Adele 8

Bruno 7

Billie 6

Paul Simon 10

U2 8

Frank Sinatra 7

Stevie Wonder 6

Henry Mancini 6

Eric Clapton 5

Hopefully the Grammys decide to pivot from aoty's to the others for her for the next decade+.

If billie gets another smash album, the voters will probably fall over themselves to give her another aoty.

Do people not realize that all these articles attacking her are literally making her more famous :rip:

She has the entire world talking about her even more because of all those dramatic articles the last 48 hours :dies:

Perfect time to release lead single or Rep TV :dies:

It's so funny how OTHs has been hiding behind Lana, Celine and boygenius when they've all done the same supposedly problematic things that they try to drag her for

Lana: signed that pro-Israel letter to Biden
Celine: bigger jet polluter than Taylor
Phoebe: best friends with Matty Healy

At this point the only argument I respect is from someone who hates all celebrities equally, because then they truly have moral high ground by not participating in celebrity culture at all. I've long accepted that 99.9% of celebrities are self-serving and willing participants of an industry intrinsically built on capitalism. It's just how the system has always worked, and how everyone (executives, artists and fans alike) have benefited from since the beginning of time. And honestly if you're that mad, then it's on you at this point. Just stop participating in pop culture instead of being selective in your outrage.

at this point I just want to force all these OTHs to watch this video in its entirety (with a pop quiz afterwards to ensure they get the point)

Duplo going from  "No One listens to her anymore" in 2017 to begging to produce a track 19 on a record of the streaming giant.

And of course won't happen :suburban:

gracie gold's memoir's cover blurb namechecks taylor: "Beautiful, blonde, Midwestern, and media-trained, she was suddenly being written up everywhere from The New Yorker to Teen Vogue to People and baking cookies with Taylor Swift."

makes me wonder if she mentions hanging out with her in the actual book...

Sorry but I have to say this, people suddenly caring about Joe Alwyn is the PEAK of pressedness, this is legit sooooo funny I just can't. :lmao: I felt this weird shift even before she announced the album...Actually it's fascinating, there's a lot of complexity about it, I wonder Taylor can pinpoint it on one of her songs from TTPD.

The way certain girlies here think that Midnights getting AOTY makes it better than evermore / RED which lost it. evermore will always be that crown jewel in her discography. I don't pay attention to the Grammy's since Blank Space lost SOTY

Nobody said that. It is, however, as deserving as any of the albums it got nominated with this year as it had the acclaim, the cultural impact, and the commercial success some of the other nominees lacked :michael:

Please, twitter swifties are spamming the narrative that Midnights is her best album and evermore is her worst because of their total / daily streams

Well, if you're spending time on Twitter and taking what they say to heart, that's on you then :ryan3:. But I don't see why it'd be a problem if some people prefer Midnights over her other albums, as long as they don't spend their entire time bullying/harassing people who stan other albums like what the Puta stans do :ryan3:

Please Midnights are the biggest bullies on this fandom. Puta stans simply want their fave album to be respected cuz it's always gets disrespected with terms like: frontloaded, trash, reputank etc despite it currently sitting at #16 on the BB200 and being a #1 year end which not every peak album of hers has.

You know Puta stans are getting that treatment because of their behavior, right? let's not play the victim now :ryan3:
