19SLAYty9 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Isn’t this her last album under her current contract with republic? I’m sure she’s going to re- sign with them, but probably pretty soon considering she has the remaining re - recordings… and when artists do sign new deals it’s very common for the first album under that deal to come within a year… so def getting ts12 in 2025 probably
Mandalore Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Also Taylor really seems like she doesn't give a flying fu*k anymore about how she could be perceived, she's gonna be who she is as loudly as possible and come what may. Something shifted post #Joever and kinda since she got in this relationship with someone who seems to genuinely appreciate that. She's happy, in love and thriving like never before. The internet will move on another day another drama, they'll be perched tracking her flight to Vegas for the Super Bowl in a couple of days lmao 2

Lille Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I agree. I said the below a few months ago, and I think it still holds true. These "controversies" are never going to stick because she doesn't give a s**t anymore. On 9/28/2023 at 11:57 AM, Lille said: I don't think she will become "overexposed" like during the original 1989 era because she is fully in it now. In 2014/15, she was huge and everywhere but she would also respond to criticisms that didn't matter and tried to appease people that didn't matter. Now, she just...doesn't give a ****. You can't cancel/overexpose someone that doesn't/won't respond to you. For better or worse, she's going to do what she wants to do now and people that criticize her just kind of come off like... 1
Cleanromantic Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Yeah, she doesn't seem to care anymore. Good for her. But all these backlashes are kind of making a case for The Man tbh What I was wearing, If I was rude... and all, wasn't there another controversy like a few weeks back about something she wore?
GoatGly Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Taylor haters are some of the most insufferable people you will ever meet
MatiRod Posted February 5 Posted February 5 This Celine thing kind of blew up. My co-workers were talking about it. Even though it was obviously out of excitement/nerves, no one wants to give the benefit of the doubt. I think she’s over-exposed and a backlash is simmering. This is just how stardom goes. She’ll be fine in the end. But get ready for rough waters my Swifties. 1

There's a BIT of backlash on that, but as soon as the Tour starts again she'll be everywhere. Specially when it comes to Europe.
Goaty Posted February 5 Posted February 5 The interaction with Celine was a little awkward but I’m sure it came from a place of nerves. Not surprised to see many on this website not give Taylor any grace for it though. 1

I mean, as a counterpoint, my colleagues talk about Taylor with me just because they know I’m a fan, and people were only interested in whether I’d heard about the new album. One family member also texted me about her and it was just about how the AOTY was her 4th and she broke the record for most wins. I haven’t heard a peep about Celine. It’s going to vary from person to person, but I would guess that the average person isn’t even aware Taylor did anything last night, and the next most common group after that is just people hearing she won a thing and has a new album coming, thinking to themselves that they’ll check it out before scrolling on to the next story in their feed. I truly don’t think that broad, sustained backlash against her is possible right now unless she personally commits some kind of inarguably heinous act.
NEX Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I think she's smart not to rush re-recordings. They did wonders for her career, why not stretch the process out a bit longer
fridayteenage Posted February 5 Posted February 5 for all the fumes of "who cares about grammys they're OVER and irrelevant now!" there sure are a ton of threads today melting down over them 1

Da Vinci Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Did she really finish all of folkmore within months cause folklore got released only 9 months after Lover's release, and lockdowns only started in March Like this is a whole genre shift and songwriting style shift (confessional to fictional) plus new collaborators and she materialized it all with a snap of a finger while everyone is busy panicking about the first and biggest global pandemic we ever experienced in our lifetimes (and hoarding toilet paper) And now with Eras tour still ongoing (that's a whole other thing to unpack!), 2 re-recordings and countless events and appearances and baseball games, she's still managing to put out another album, another whole new era? Everything Everywhere All At Once teas, like what happened, what's going on? I get the normal 2 year gap between albums but adding everything else to it? 1

Lmao yes, I think the limit is 100 a day (might be lower) and I only ever hit it when **** like this happens because I have such a strong reaction to every post I read that I have to leave one I had like 12 pages of the album thread to catch up on when I woke up and I'd used them all up like halfway through that

By the Water Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Today's fumes were so delicious. Like it's so easy to tell some people are fuming Midnights AOTY Taylor 4x AOTY winner
Cruel Summer Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I just saw the latest popular thread from r/SwiftlyNeutral pop up on the Reddit home page, whining and critiquing everything about last night. These people know that they’re not actually just well-adjusted, well-intentioned “neutral” fans, right? … right?

Great808 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Ppl are in shambles all over because of her win, the bigger the star the bigger the target is at it’s peak rn with her and I feel like the only tactic they have left to bring her down would be to coordinate her future nominations alongside mostly or only POC contenders and have her win all of them so that ppl will spin that out of control and they absolutely know they will.
