Even though it didn't move in my overall ranking, there are some songs that were revealed to me (especially AYHTDWS). Maybe the TV will make me love Puta more than Loser. Not that it means that much but still. The magic they did on OOTW… Imagine that applied to Getaway Jesus 2
PoisonedIvy Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 (edited) I found my original ranking of the reputation tracks from the night the album came out, which I was surprised about because I actually wasn’t INITIALLY hooked on the album, it took a year for me to really connect. The tour played a huge part in that. I loved the aesthetic of the era but the album wasn’t getting too many plays from me — so when I found these rankings and I saw how generous I was I was shook Spoiler ...Ready For It: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ End Game: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 I Did Something Bad: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Don't Blame Me: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 Delicate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Look What You Made Me Do: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So It Goes...: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gorgeous: ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 Getaway Car: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ King of My Heart: ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 Dancing With Our Hands Tied: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dress: ⭐️⭐️ This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things: ⭐️⭐️ Call It What You Want: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ New Year's Day: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ready to be dragged for my Dress rating The stars with extra flair stand for a “half” star But of course the album grew up on me a **** ton Edited November 21, 2023 by PoisonedIvy 1
Ger.vaz Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I loved 1989TV’s vault Tracks but I’m done with this Sound/type of Songs. We Need the bangers for putaTV. Antonoff must come through or leave us in Peace. This is my favorite era and she Can Not serve again bland mid tracks like 1989.
19SLAYty9 Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Are we ready for 15 vault tracks and collabs with Blackpink, Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Drake, Post Malone, and Nicki Minaj? Let’s pray! 1

And I don't really see her "rushing" them. But the hype for TS11 is going to be so high I think rep tv in February , debut in May, Ts11 November 2024

ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted November 21, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted November 21, 2023 I still think that some people's opinions toward reputation were, at the very least, influenced by her, well, reputation at the time. Which isn't to say that it's a perfect album or that people's criticisms aren't valid, but that some people went into that era looking for flaws to bolster a preconceived opinion. Again, I don't think it's perfect by any means but I believe it to have some of her finest and most interesting pop songwriting. I love 1989 for its timeless.mp3 quality and appreciate many tracks' inherent unobjectionable-ness. It worked well. Reputation, to me, is just a more interesting listen from the production, melodies, and lyrical phrases. Not necessarily better but more interesting, and I'd argue more personal. The songs, whether you like them or not, all feel like Taylor. I love tracks like AYHTDWS, IKP, and HYGTG but not because they feel specific to Taylor but because they are very well written and produced pop songs. What they lack in specificity they make up for in polish. Do I prefer them to something like This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things? Sure. But more often than not I'd rather the messiness, the unique physical imagery, and the idiosyncrasy she's known for over a somewhat faceless tune regardless of how well it's constructed. So, I'm really looking forward to the re-recording even though I'm afraid she'll botch it. 2
19SLAYty9 Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I believe rep tv may get closer to the red treatment than speak now or 1989. I feel like she probably wants to make a point like she did with red. Both were albums that were unfairly critiqued at the time and started getting their flowers years later. For that reason, would not surprise me if we got more vault tracks than the previous 2 re recordings to “correct some wrongs” per say.
19SLAYty9 Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 And if we do get plenty of rep tv vault tracks, rep might break its tie with lover in my ranking
TaylorNation Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I was a Reputation truther since day one so no need for me to switch when the TV comes out however I will saw that even though I really liked it, it wasn’t until the tour that it REALLY clicked for me I’m really curious for the vault because I believe it’s the one we know the least about? and to see how many tracks it has, and if it will confirm the lost album theories (or make them worse ddd)

Get ready for the Getaway Car/DWOHT/CIWYW-type of vault tracks (as she should) Hide contents And when we get more Gorgeous, TIWWCHNT, KOMH, NYD Watch her somehow fill the Puta Vault with minimalistic Antonoff production ala SIut

Taylor fanboy Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 (edited) TikTok Swifties, edit that scene from the Hunger Games Prequel. Spoiler Lead actress was being swarmed by snakes and the people were screaming to Viola Davis to “Get her out”. A HIT reputation TV tiktok concept I fear. Edited November 22, 2023 by Taylor fanboy 1
