Tusk Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Joe changed the course of reputation. Will Travis change the course of TS11?
Heldenzeit Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Went to see the eras movie for a second time and had an even better experience. Got to exchange a few bracelets as well. 1
Klein Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I just came back from seeing the movie. Oh boy! (I ended up writing a "long" review full of spoilers, so don't open if you don't want to know anything about the film) Spoiler First: what a spectacle! It looks gorgeous, it really shows what needs to be shown. The pace is great. It's really beautiful and they are a LOT of moments that looks spectacular. I was LIVING. The editing is also great for the most part. Excellent job on her team's part. I wish the transition between eras was a little more polished, but it's still good. Now I gagged when I saw the snake around the stage at the beginning of the Reputation set. The Vigilante Sh*t performance is a MOMENT (and I made the gayest noise ever when I heard her "women", did anyone else noticed it?). If I had to say my favorite moments from the film, that would be Reputation > Fearless > evermore. These 3 sections are those I enjoyed the most. It's a very long show. I knew it was long, but you take the grandeur of it all when watching the movie. I was feeling tired and she was still out here giving it her all and I really commend her for that because this is mad impressive. The stamina of this woman is exceptional. On that subject, I can say with 100% certainty that Lavender Haze should be SKIPPED. Not only the song is mid, but it's not the banger you need to open the last section of a 3+ hours tour. Go straight into Anti-Hero. From the Midnights set, Mastermind was a revelation for me. I always dragged Taylor for including it in the setlist, but the performance looks really amazing on the film. I also want to comment on the crowd in the theater. For context, I am from France, and it is week 2. I expected a nearly empty room, but it was PACKED. Nobody really moved during Lover, but heads were nodding, and people were singing very quietly. Then Fearless started, and never in a million years did I think this album would make the French MOVE, but oh boy they did. A girl on the front row just hyped everyone and in a matter of seconds, 3/4 of the room was dancing and singing in front of the screen (the screen was elevated, they did not block the view). I didn't move because I went alone and didn't want to leave my stuff, but I really wanted to enjoy the moment with that crowd. For a moment I was scared they were going to be too loud to even enjoy the film, but it was ok... except on two occasions. First, can someone tell the Tik Tok girlies that they are no singers and really cannot do that Don't Blame Me high notes? I couldn't even hear it. The second time the crowd was "too loud" was right before 1989 started. I was NOT ready for that, it literally scared me. I don't think I've heard the instrumental leading to Style's verse AT ALL . 1989 TV is coming to do some BIG damages. Damn that album is really loved. Back to Fearless, when everyone was dancing and singing like there was no tomorrow. The second the set is over and evermore started, people nearly RAN to their sit. The poor little sister is really not loved. A few Swifties stayed to do the willow witch circle, but then back to their seat. It was DEAD SILENT, except at one point and the situation bothered me somehow. During the bridge of champagne problems, they all got up again, filmed a Tik Tok while screaming that line of the bridge, and sat back in dead silence. It's like nobody even knew the songs. I was literally the only one out here enjoying my life, to the point the guy sat right beside me asked me how I could know all the words to the songs . Another champagne problems moment happened for Delicate. No one knew the words to this song, like at all. But all the Tik Tok were ON to scream 1, 2, 3 LGB and then dead silent until Don't Blame Me. I find that really amusing how it works. Same with august. Couldn't sing a word of the song except the bridge for a cute Tik Tok. Another thing that irritated me (not in terms of enjoying the show but being mad people didn't like that part) is that everyone RAN to the toilets during My Tears Ricochet. I was like "poor baby ". I was really surprise that Reputation didn't get the loudest reaction out of the crowd. Honestly, they were more hyped during 1989, Fearless and Midnights. To sum up: amazing experience, loved it, can't wait for the film to be on streaming platforms to see it again. 6

Dear Reader Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 I was reflecting on Midnight’s first anniversary and how my life has changed since then. This album has been there for me for so many different occasions. I’ve since moved between 3 different cities, befriended many people and had to leave others. It’s so weird thinking about my life one year ago and how it is now. Even mentally I’d say I grew with it. I’ll forever hold Midnights in my heart 7

IBeMe Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 Just for fun what's another song you think could blow up to the level of Cruel Summer for her and force her to make it a single? I know it's technically impossible to have something connect to the level of Cruel Summer. She has huge streaming hits like Paper Rings that came out of nowhere too but nothing to the level where she was essentially FORCED to make it a single like Cruel Summer.
Taylor fanboy Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 (edited) I was listening to Shake It Off and proceeded to play my playlist with the same mood. I was listening to Mickey (“Hey mickey!”) and remembered replacing the re-recorded version with the original version, it’s tagged as “Mickey - Original Version”. It makes me wonder if the stolen versions gets reissued by that investment firm and renames them e.g. “Shake It Off - Original Version”. I wonder if Taylor’s Version is big enough of a thing with the “GP” for them to pick and stream it over the would be “Original Version”. Toni Basil’s Mickey - Original Version is her top song on Spotify, the re-recorded, second. She now owns both. https://variety.com/2022/music/news/toni-basil-mickey-copyright-appeals-court-1235270438/amp/ Edited October 21, 2023 by Taylor fanboy

skwonderfactory Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 Happy one year anniversary to Midnights! I literally just bought the Blood Moon vinyl yesterday not realizing it was today. Can she PLEASE drop a 3am Edition CD and vinyl today? Both with a proper booklet. Or, better yet, a The Til Dawn version since that has all the 3am tracks plus “Hits Different” and “Snow On The Beach” featuring More Lana Del Rey plus “Karma” featuring Ice Spice. DO IT, TAYLOR!! 6
