Isn't there rumored bad blood between Lorde and Jack though?

Be real, did any of y'all think she would ever be this big/omnipresent? Like I know she's always been massive and relevant, but this is a level of infamy I never thought she (or anyone else, really) would reach.

Everyone in my life likes her now, and it's so weird to me after years of stale jokes about her dating.

She worked hard but she also benefits from multiple coincidences:

- the rise in poptimism (which she did help catalyze)

- pushback against the shaming of feminine centric media (empowerment of girlie interests)

- the pandemic exponentially increasing overall touring demand

- Scooter ******* her over indirectly

These alongside the Folkmore -> RED TV -> Midnights 123 punch really solidified her existing fanbase + attached a new demographic strongly receptive to her slower Folkmore esque music, the adult male/dads

Im willing to bet a significant portion of the Eras Tour admissions aside from girl/boy friend groups are whole nuclear families who are Swifties. Dads being the folklore emos, moms loving 1989 then maybe their kids love RED/Speak Now.

Shes the first 4 quadrant artist weve had since MJ. Young (mostly gay) men and women, adult (straight) men and women are now her general demographic.

Also ppl can rag on her for this but on an album by album basis Taylor Swift easily has the MOST diverse catalogue among her 21st century peers.

The yeehaw of Debut, the angsty poprock of Speak Now, synthpop 1989, alternative indie of Folklore.

The only mainstream genre she hasnt dabbled in is hiphop/r&b but loosely she plays with these in Reputation (RFI, Dress, DWOHT, etc.) and Midnights (Lavender Haze, Glitch, etc.)

She truly has a discography meant for everyone, one gateway album to drag you into listening to everything :jonny4:

If we really nitpick genres, almost everyone can have a diverse looking catalogue.

“Thought”? It obviously is about Joe :deadbanana:

I don’t have super strong feelings either way towards the song though.

I think she's waiting for the tour to cross $1B before reporting any numbers. That would be a much bigger headline than biggest touring month or beating Madonna's record, as it will simultaneously be the biggest tour ever and the first one to ever cross the mark.

So, for Debut TV, she should do what Shania Twain did with UP! and release the album in its original country format while also having a dual disc pop mix of each of the same songs. So you get country debut in its original form and remixed pop versions for newer, global fans. My mind

Hey swifties! I found an interesting article about being a Black fan of Taylor Swift

https://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/black-taylor-swift-fans-reflect-49264761

Since I don't have the ability to make threads, could somebody make a thread about this?

What do you think about this article?

Even on ATRL it's hard to be a black Taylor Swift fan. But only white people listen to her!!!!!

I haven't read the article but making a thread to show a black person loves Taylor Swift just reads like tokenism ("you are saying all Swifties are white, but look! here's a black Swiftie so you're wrong"). I'm not black so maybe I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

No, I wasn't meaning to do that. Instead I thought this was an interesting and lovely article, so I wanted to show it to you guys.

Earlier this year when there were rumors about a certain plagiarist songstress releasing at the same time as Taylor, a lot people here didn't want that to happen because of the negative attention but I was full on about it because I knew Lord coming out on top would be settled once and for all...
