- goofy

- funny

- song is actually not written bad and she perfectly captured immediate essence of crushing on somebody ( she definitely did it better on gold rush, for example, but she still got glitchy vibe of it on Gorgeous perfectly ).

They have wanted her to be racist, republican, homophobic villain since forever, which they thought would be a given because of her country origins, but when that prejudice had fallen apart, they truly lost it. It’s actually comical when you think about it.

Now why do I keep seeing the Big Machine Records era albums being bought through the Tik Tok shop....  For the last week I've gotten a video of someone buying reputation at least once a day now and I've also seen 1989 and Speak Now ones. Apparently it's through 1 single record store in Pennsylvania so it's not anything nefarious but feels so random. I wonder if these sales get reported to Billboard/Luminate.

They probably did if they’re new copies - I think it’s rare to find a record store these days that isn’t tracked since it works through barcodes more or less - but if they’re used/resold copies, I think those usually don’t get reported.

 

Interesting phenomenon though.

 

It actually makes me wonder if vinyl and other physical copies of her old albums will get super expensive due to scarcity, at least until she inevitably buys the masters for dirt cheap compared to their original valuation and then reissues them all to celebrate (and to send them to the top of the charts again).

A few months ago they were reselling for insane prices on eBay because they hadn't been repressed in a while. But I think there was a recent repress of all of the BMR albums based on videos I've seen of record stores promoting them (dozens of copies available at every store of every album). Then the comments are inevitably filled with Swifties denouncing the sale of them.  I think there will always be a decent level of demand for them though because Swifties are set up to be collectors of her albums as it is and new fans will inevitably want to own every album.
