I don't think so, it appears to be a national ranking. They're not affiliated with any retailers as far as I can tell. There's a book chart too.

Ok thanks, I will add Argentina!

It's always about France at the end of the day, if you're not completely slaying the French charts, you're local apparently :rip:

Lover & 1989 would 100% chart if they could. They would probably push Red TV/Fearless TV out of the top 200 though but I think there are chances rep could chart too. folklore left the chart some weeks ago since it turned 3yo.

does that also apply to YE too?

3yo+ albums aren't allowed to chart anymore.

Yeah, folklore was excluded after July 24th since it turned 3 yo. :rip:

SNEP posted the best-selling albums of the first semester and they don't include "old" albums: https://snepmusique.com/chiffres-ressources/chiffres-du-marche/musique-enregistree-les-performances-du-1er-semestre-2023/

Some journalists do though. For example, Pure Charts has a different top 20 because they count old albums: https://www.chartsinfrance.net/actualite/news-125397.html

That really doesn't make any sense, why would they have a rule like that? It's so DUMB :psyduck:

my mind is blown since none of this was on the wiki :dies: omg explains so much

I caught an album missing from the YE on Chartsinfrance and thought there was a mistake on the SNEP a while ago :deadbanana2:

I'm not 100% sure but I remember correctly, there are albums charting on the YE charts while not being eligible anymore to chart because they turned 3yo during the said year (which means they are charting with only some months included), it makes 0 sense :rip:

Spain has a similar rule as I noticed old albums aren't charting + folklore dropped out of their charts after July. I couldn't find the rule though.

I just don't understand why they would even have a rule like that to begin with. It's making their charts wildly inaccurate :psyduck:

Now seriously, this is so surprising. I don't think we will see a domination like this that soon. Cause she's not dominating with one era. She's slaying with her entire discography all at once.

Yeah I agree, NZ introduced a similar rule a couple of months ago except albums only have 18 months to chart :rip:

I noticed that their catalog chart is actually more relevant than their official one :dies:

Red TV was super stable before exiting their charts (top 15+ for several weeks), the moment it reached 18 months, it debuted at like #35 or something on the catalog chart :dies:

this is so insane. I've only ever seen this when legends had died but even then it lasted for only a couple of weeks...

I grew up following the German charts and I've never seen something like that there. Not even their Schlager acts can pull off this... She basically exploded there just recently.  wow

It's really great to see how massive she's become in Germany after it's been one of her weakest markets for so many years. She's making more noise than before in France too.

And it's impressive because she didn't even have to die to get the charts looking like that.

She's only 2B behind Bad Bunny. She will pass him soon.

Drake will probably be in 2024. He is still 5B ahead of Bad Bunny, but yeah its pretty certain at this point that she will get that #1 there.

If 1989 really smashes and his new albums flops could also happen in late 2023

if she keeps at least 50M daily lead over BB, she’ll surpass him before the end of next month… as for Drake, at this pace, even with a new album, he’ll be dethroned early next at best, it would be insane if 1989 does enough damage to cover his new album’s effect and end up surpassing him before the end of the year…

I haven’t heard WANEGBT (Old Testament Version ORRR New Testament Version) in over a year if I’m being honest.

But I just played it right now and …

It sounds fine? Even… good, almost? Dare I say?

And the we’s that sounded messed up upon release don’t sound nearly as bad. The vocals and production are all STRONG. I feel like the chorus is still layered a little -wrong- compared to the original but overall it’s something I can actually add back to my listening rotation :lakitu:
