I guess this is from Taylor's team

Such a low, weird, disgusting move by the NYT. F--- them and the delusional creeps they chose to platform.

It's good that they called out The New York Times for publishing this op-ed. I'm still upset because of the highly inappropriate op-ed in The Guardian, which was based on nothing but weird assumptions. It was even worse because it was an editorial.

2017, yeah that checks out. They really made her the scapegoat for Trump winning the elections somehow :rip:

I recall reading this op-ed, and my initial reaction was pure disbelief. Even their subscribers, often British and > 50 years old, expressed similar sentiments and called them out with a collective "WTF." However, there was no apology forthcoming. What adds to the dismay is that this was an editorial written by one of their senior editors. It is disheartening to observe how established newspapers believe they can disregard their responsibility to be reputable simply because an article is about an entertainer. It appears they feel entitled to write whatever they please.

Oh, gaylors, the entire world can now see how weird y'all are

Get their asses! :dies:

Confirming the direct quotes come from Taylor's camp. Reiterating she has previously stated that she's straight and only an ally to the community. I mean, I know this won't convince those creeps because they don't see her as a real person but it's good to know SHE finds their antics appaling.

The NYT is a sham magazine trying to get clicks

I wouldn't mind Maroon as a winter single, but Midnight Rain and Yoko Ono should be singles as well.

Midnights could've had such a great singles run if it weren't for the TVs

Anti Hero

Karma

Yoko Ono

Midnight Rain

Maroon

The amount of people completely not getting the point of the response :rip:

The non-Swifties (read: OTH) trying to get involved in this when they know nothing about the nuances of this situation, which has been going on for years :rip:

The “she was asking for it” nonsense, just because she’s been involved with her fans from the start. Yeah, I’m sure her cultivating a relationship with her fans means she was asking for a subset of her fanbase to become convinced she’s gay and constantly hiding clues (based on no reasonable, non-delusional evidence btw), and that every single thing she does is a lie or an evil ploy :rip:

And then people missing the point of the Shawn example - nobody is saying he hasn’t been speculated on too, but would they publish a huge piece in the NYT? Absolutely not, it’s just weird :rip:

Sigh. Nobody can be normal when it comes to her and it honestly gets more frightening by the day. One look on Twitter and you unironically have people calling for her murder because she’s too successful. It’s sickening.

I think the notion that her relationship with Joe allowed those people to grow their delusions is spot on. She was so private for years, with a boyfriend that was and still is pretty much unknown as a person outside of what she wrote about him, that they could project whatever delusions they wanted on to her. It was easy for them to claim her songs about him are fictional and she’s actually secretly a lesbian. Not any less delusional, but still easier.

Now that she’s with a man who she’s publicly embracing, and who she is publicly embracing, they’re completely losing the plot. He’s not problematic so they can’t attack his character without looking ridiculous and aspects of this relationship have played out publicly, so they can’t keep projecting nonsense on to her. I just can’t believe we’ve gotten to the point where “Taylor Swift girl kisser” jokes have turned into…

“Actually she’s an evil mastermind who wants to profit from queer culture, but she doesn’t want to come out so she’s spineless. Oh, but she’s also controlled by Tree and Scott, but noooo she's still evil and spineless because she only leaves us clues through the media that Scott and Tree control.”

So on, and so forth. The constant contradictions - it’s derangement plain and simple. I would say that I fear this type of behavior is only the beginning of the negative effects from growing up on the internet, as you can see Louis and Harry have their own version of this, but I’ve seen a handful of these people that are older than Taylor. I can’t :rip:

Yeah, you’d think they’re mostly 14 year-olds but I’ve seen so many who are older than Taylor herself. Just the other day there was a 40 year-old peddling this nonsense who got their wig tossed around on Twitter :deadbanana4:

This is why I hate her being this successful tbh. "There's a Taylor shaped gap in people's ethics" is such an on point statement. Just looking at what the oth are saying in that other thread, and I have no doubt that people would actually want her dead for stomping their faves... POP music stans are just so toxic.

Reddit communities banning any users that could bring nuance to their echo chambers is so unhinged, serving r/Fauxmoi where you automatically get banned for posting about Taylor positively or for participating in a positive/ neutral Taylor sub (the mods there actually go through your post history and ban you if you have positive posts about her...)

This "gaylor" thing is one of the most stupid rumour ever. I used to think "Gaylors" were joking and that they know that she's 100% straight and just make stories up for their entertainment and fantasies. I know this has been going on for nearly a decade but in the past 2 years it really became mainstream and so disgusting and toxic.

I don't see this as a threat or anything like that cuz it's so f****** stupid and pathetic but if things don't stop it could escalate into something bigger. It must so weird and dissapointing for Taylor to read articles from thee NYT about her sexuality and how she lead the fans to believe this. Her easter eggs and clues were always about new music and were obvious, I bet that she regrets creating this "everything is a clue" narrative cuz people seriously believe shes dropping hints and signs to us about everything and make everything a treasure hunt.

But as you all said, lots of artist had fans spreading delusional rumors about their dating life, like Harry and Louis and Camila and Lauren. But Taylor is so much bigger than them and has an insane amount of lore so all of this became mainstream and now we are getting serious articles and thinkpieces from reputable sources which is insane cuz it's so ******* dumb and delusional. I can't even comprehend that people actually 100% believe in it and base their personality about Taylor being gay, Taylor is actually the least gay pop star we have today.

The best thing to do is to sue anyone with a platform that shares stuff like that and if it still doesnt stop (well its never gonna stop but if it stays on Twitter its not really a problem since no one takes Twitter seriously and we have many delusional and weird subcultures there) she should just address the situation and make an official statement rejecting the rumors and everyone who makes them, it just needs to be clear and precise so shell finally shut those people up and leave this behind.

Can we talk about how Treacherous is about literal sex?

I'll do anything you say, if you say it with your hands?

Forever going with the flow, but you're friction?

Two headlights shine through the sleepless night?

I'll follow you follow you home?

Girly literally peaking as the song crescendos into the second bridge and then quivering at the end with 'I-I-I, like it.......'
