I feel like the songs will do ok until people go see the movie and really search for them.

Also I'm getting the feeling the video for the song won't be Rihanna on it. Just images from the film.

Now that you mention it, since it's a Chadwick Boseman tribute I could see the music video just being pictures/videos of him

I'm blasting to a playlist that is 'rihanna's ballads' and I'm getting my lifeee!!!!

I am so glad I let Rih's discrography sleep for a bit and not overplay it...

I'm enjoying it back SOOOO MUCH!!

I wonder if she’s started rehearsing for the Super Bowl yet?? So hype to see what Shazam has for us with behind the scenes stuff.

She’s so busy I wonder how she’ll manage but it’s good practice for the tour next year aaaah :jonny5:

Yeah, I heard the music video drops tomorrow and that it's just film footage, as expected

Could this be her See You Again chart wise?

Hopefully not quality wise

Quality song or not, see you again had a strong melody. That's all it takes! A big, powerful, enjoyable, strong melody even with crappy lyrics.

Not gonna lie these reviews thus far are serving "great gowns, beautiful gowns" to me :toofunny3:

Eh :rip:

Film songs either do very well or not with no in between. I personally hope it's a good song, I'll wait till I hear it to make any assessment but I don't have much hopes chartwise. Just because it fits into the film doesn't mean that it will resonate with the public the way a song like See You Again did.

The one saying that needs to hear it again is really f*cking with my nerves.

True but I think it’s because they don’t want to breach any NDAs by revealing too much

The fact that both songs are ballads and END CREDITS really got me thinking that Rih initially only wanted to contribute only 1 song to close the movie and that song was "Born Again".

She probably did "Born Again" years ago for Anti or R9, submitted the song to Marvel but they said "that's cute but the Black Panther team already got one ready-to-go and we'd like you to sing it". And that's how we got 2 ballads back to back for end credits. :skull:

Which makes me more excited for "Born Again" tbh. It will feel more like typical Rih album track.

Lol i know what you mean. I’m kind of in a similar spot, because i assume that most of these people are movie critics/journalists rather than music critics (and maybe i’m wrong!) who would be happy with anything.

Anyway not like i care about reviews that much, it’s just HOURS until we can stream it ??????

I agree, The Dream being the producer of 'Born Again' also gave me the feeling it was intended for R9 (especially with that song title)
