This base is so fragile lol you would think she released the album and ignored it. She's actually putting some effort into promoting the soundtrack single and y'all are giving up your stan cards

I hope R9 gives us attitude like BBHMM. :jonny5:

Wow, I didn’t know so many of you were success stans:rip:. Yes, Lift Me Up is slow, depressing, and not something you can use too many times daily, but it’s a nice song. A top tier ballad in her catalog tbh :lakitu:

I'm not giving my stan card because Lift Me Up is not succeeding. Actually quite the opposite... I love the song.

But the attitude and the bad decisions are triggering me.

Don't talk to me about not supporting Rih... When I was here during the Rated R era, getting back with CB, During the 460 mess and all the inbetweens... You guys know how I've provided chart numbers and stats through the years... for 15 years....

But right now the overall situation is starting to be too much for me

I'm really mad at the moment.

The fact that she (or her team are so desperately trying to make it go #1) and she just scrapped the second song in the OST...

And now the Depp news....

I really hope someone just sits down with her and come up with a plan...

Starting with deleting the part where Depp appears (if it's real)

I really need to know she hasn't just lost all of her mind and start dinamiting her legacy in a month, just after getting to the absolute sky with the SuperBowl announcement.

Wait she cancelled Born Again?

I’ma need y’all to chill and enjoy the moment lol.

Also y’all shouldn’t attack eachother cause one stan has a critical opinion. There’s a difference between venting vs whining.

Y’all can’t blame the Navy for being disappointed. After the DISASTER that was the ANTi rollout, we were hoping her next release would be handled better. But her “grand” comeback is already shrouded with so much mess.

Lift Me Up is a great song - v beautiful - but for her team to be hyping it as THEE Rihturn? We didn’t want this. And yes it’s a tribute to Chadwick but why tf did she decide 4 weeks ago this is how she wanted to comeback..?????

And the Johnny mess is just completely disastrous. Makes no sense. She’s supposed to be a savvy businesswoman like??

I am LOVING the payola and gimmicks to get that #1 though just coz it is making all the hater bottoms seethe :bibliahh:

Hopefully she succeeds so these gheys will have full on meltdowns :celestial5:

I mean it’s really not that deep. I’m really just happy to hear her voice again. I’ve worn her discography out (she’s my most streamed artist of all time by a margin so extreme that nobody will ever catch her :rip:)

yes, this is messy af, but I’m OG navy. I’ve been here since Music Of The Sun. I’ll never abandon her. I’m so proud of everything she ‘s done because people swore up and down that she wouldn’t last. She’s far exceeded even my expectations as a devoted fan. These few hiccups won’t even make a stain on her legacy when it’s all said and done :lakitu:

As much as I want to see bad decisions come back to slap her in the face, I would be here even more for the collective seething of this forum if the song goes #1.

And ahh, you just reminded me of 460... iconic, honestly, truly. Time, the ultimate truth teller.

That's the exact thing I said.

I won't stop supporting or liking her.

But I do really need to take the space before doing something that has no return, or thinking on jumping ship (which I'll never do)

I freaking love the song, and can't stop listening since Thursday night, so if she gets the #1 I will be super happy for all of those times she was blocked from #1 for competing with important songs (We Belong Together, Despacito, and others), so if they want the #1 using tactics, LET'S GOOO!

Better a #1 then to miss for a few points like This is what you came for honestly. #Praying all of this is worthy for the oscars...

Can I ask for clarification on what the mess exactly is? Cause the rollout has been basically perfect

Emotional ballad for a star in what's going to be one of the biggest movies of the year, Oscars nomination has already been floated, critic response has been fantastic. Released two Fridays before the movie, one Friday before the album, on the right day(we know Rih likes to mess about with the release day, but not this time), couple of lyric videos and such immediately with release, music video the next day, massive radio launch (one of the biggest ever), another couple of gimmicks throughout the week once it looked like it was within reach off number one... I'm not seeing the mess.

If you mean by mess, is that it wasn't what people/atrl wanted her return to be... well sure but, chile. Take a breather and we'll all party at the Superbowl.

This base will never be happy, that's my personal take.

Agreed 100% - Long story short: people in this base wanted a standard Rihanna pop banger that would go straight to Spotify #1 for 30 days in a row.

Can we get an Adele remix for LMU?

We are knee deep now might as well do everything to secure the #1 :toofunny3:

The johnny depp thing better be a ******* lie istg. Why the **** would she insert herself into something like this?

Posted

The johnny situation literally soured this whole "comeback" for me. I'm just hoping it's not true...

Posted

Not this whole thing being concluded with “they wanted a pop banger” bruh I don’t even want her to do pop stop putting words into my mouth. She could’ve recorded something powerful and make a big comeback with BP or she could’ve waited until SB for her own lead. Which I have faith for. Instead she did this weak song with weak lyrics and production. It’s fair to complain about it.

On a more positive note:

She looks like teyana Taylor

This is probably my last post, and hopefully my last visit, on this site. It might as well end where it all started. I'm not going to be defending her or stanning her after the Johnny mess. Don't understand it. Don't want to understand it. Beyond disgusted. It's been good interacting and posting with y'all through the years, hope you all stay safe and well.
