I wonder how far along this 2nd album actually is?

She never stopped recording and claimed to already have 4 albums worth of material. I don't really expect a new album until fall 25 or early 26. Glad to see her eager to work and finally put those lazy drags to rest.

A tour, festivals, Dopamine videos, AND new album next year? Oh she said she's about to WORK.

I have trust issues when she says the word "soon" however the tone of this interview does have me hopeful . She seems like she's in a better space from the interview as well so hopefully 2025 is a good year for her !

I don't know if I believe her but I am always going to be excited about new music so I hope she's telling the truth :duca:

I'm happy that she is finally listening to the fans and just releasing consistently. I completely understand wanting to take your time but this is still a business. Time waits for no one.

Also, if we do in fact get a 2nd album we need her to either stick to a true release schedule with an opening single before the album and maybe another one after it is released. Then we need her to announce the actual release date on the day it is announced. The thing that killed the little hype dopamine had was that long ass wait. With the promotional material spread out in random succession.

It should be Album announcement/Release Date —> Promotional Video similar to the first dose —> lead single —> Album release—> award shows/performance/festivals—> 2nd single —> award shows/performance/festivals.

You know like a regular release schedule. It's quite clear that RCA has tried replacing her with Tate and Victoria however one only excels in sales and the other acclaim. Normani can do both so I'm hoping they are willing to give her another chance because 2019-2020 Normani was literally the precursor to all these new girls. It's time for her to show that and stop letting this perfectionist attitude get in the way.

You guys can't seriously think all of this will actually happen? Help.

They will believe any and everything she says as if she didn't lie the interview before. She even made Lydia lie

I don't think it's some much of lying. It's mostly being overzealous and being let down with the label not finding her stuff. If you noticed every other artist like Tate, Doja, Victoria, and SZA have had the same thing happen. All their albums were delayed but the thing about them is they work their asses off when the time presents itself. So RCA is willing to place more money behind them. They also attempt to keep in touch with their fans. Normani does neither it's like whenever it's time to promote she is either unavailable or everything gets pushed back 1-2 months later. I mean look at what happened to Dopamine. She didn't do any self-promotion everything was done via faceless interview or radio. Nothing intimate or nothing actually substantial.

Hopefully see she's the error in her ways and tries to interact with her fans because if not then she should stop with all the shenanigans

So another album with no promo or visuals?

No thanks

She doesn't see the error in her ways, If so she would've promoted her music on socials and speak to her fans, she doesn't. She just performed for Spotify, 1st perf in years and we only got Insta pics, not even a 1min behind the scenes, just insta pics.

I truly think you guys are reading too much into it. I think they just aren't working together. If you think about it; Sean has been bashed by y'all for over 6 years. I wouldn't want anything to do with y'all or this fandom either. I'm pretty sure they speak behind the scenes.

Also; something tells me that Normani isn't as well liked as she used to be. Because I distinctly remember her name being everywhere in 2019 and was mentioned by everyone. Now they've moved on like everybody else. It's just how show business works.

I'm just glad (as someone else said) Normani and her team realized you just have to keep dropping until something sticks. You gotta look at Latto's career as a great example. She flops a lot but she also gets a viral moment or a viral hit because she's constantly doing SOMETHING and doing it with a bit of a set standard quality wise. It keeps her getting brand deals + bookings. That's the game nowadays.

Albums become more important if you break out how Sabrina did where the mainstream wants to watch your every last ig post and movement.

I know what's done is done, but if I could go back in time and step into Normani's shoes, I would've made Dopamine a surprise release. If she's creating a visual album or mini-film, that should've been the centerpiece from the start. That strategy would've been far more effective.

Look at her past releases—her biggest moments always came with visuals. Motivation had a video we'll never forget, and Wild Side, hands down her best video, was iconic. Normani's building her name as a visual artist, and her team should've played to that strength.

Even with a smaller budget, Dopamine could've had a sickening rollout if they played it smart. Yeah, RCA has a bad rep, and we don't know the details of her deal, but it looks like she has a lot of creative control, which is dope. Still, I'm guessing years of investment might've stretched the budget thin for this era.

Here's how I would've done it: finish the visuals first, drop the album cover to build hype, and let it simmer for a month. Then, drop the album and visuals together, followed by some live performances. After a month, announce a summer tour. Dopamine gives both summer and fall energy, so it would've been perfect timing.

What do y'all think?

Tbh, I still have hope in Dopamine. Idc what the numbers say or what people think. She gave us an album with quality. Not only that, but it truly represents who she is as an artist. I love when she does pop music, but the notion that the album should have been primarily pop is just ridiculous. What the album needed were visuals and performances—that's it. It's a solid project that gives the public a real taste of who she is artistically, and she did a very good job at that. This isn't her make or break moment, and honestly, it never was.

I personally feel like they pushed this film back because of Pedro's obligations to the Fantastic 4 filming. Hopefully, they are wrapping up filming he will have time to do interviews. We need all hands on deck for this film to be successful. It doesn't help that him and Normani (really only Pedro) are the only ones who are in public eye for real.
