Arianna Kylie Posted July 20 Posted July 20 well the way i see JT interract w her fans and have instagram channels and etc. normani can be doing little things which in the long run can help. i just don't get it. i don't know whatsup over there.. i still think theres a chance of a deluxe but i don't really even know.
justifymythreads Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I'm sorry but Jade just released her song it's not my taste. but the fact that she's engaging with her fans and being proactive is literally making me irritated all over again. Like is DK taking up her time to which she can't literally get on instalive. I think she's still trying to hide from social media but what is there to be scared of. Like just get on live and answer some questions. Like it's not that hard if being an artist was my passion I would be working every avenue I could to get my music more listeners. I mean even Tinashe is getting these performances and trying whatever she can to make the Nasty hype stay. Chloe is hopping on every remix and whining her ass from here to St Lucia and posting about getting more people to engage with her. Like what is Normani possibly doing that she can't get on live or talk or even post? Is that self-conscious? Like how about a cooking video or maybe a get ready with me? Something where we can see her real personality. Something?
brraap Posted July 21 Posted July 21 The way she dropped this album and moved on with her life. Iconic 7
toast Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Do we think there's litigation involved? Or is this just a tug of war between Normani + team and the label?
shelven Posted July 21 Posted July 21 The way I and a few others got attacked on all sides a year or so ago for pointing out that it seems like Normani isn't actually passionate about music and that she mainly views a music career as a vehicle to the overall lifestyle/status she wants, and now it's proven to be absolutely true Because there's truly no explanation for why she's not at least posting a little TikTok dance clip or generally acknowledging the existence of the album outside of pre-taped interviews other than that she simply doesn't care about any of this that much. 4 1

I think RCA is definitely tired of her perfectionism and is looking to collect their investment 6 years and over a hundred recorded scrapped songs; multiple scrapped music videos, scrapped photoshoots, and waste of people's time and money. I wouldn't be surprised if they told her that she better self-promote in order to get some green lights lit. It's a shame because an artist like Doja or Cardi would film TT and jump on any wave to get there music funded. Meanwhile she literally had that with CP and let that hype fizzle out. Now it's dependent on if she really wants it or not. I've heard people say that she was leaving but where is she going to go? The album did 12k I'm pretty sure any label would look at that as a sign of caution. Which is why her getting out and performing and ceasing these useless interviews is the only way. She needs to get on TT and work what she has. Her team should be giving her an agenda of posting atleast 3 times a week and posting her interviews on her main page and not that useless fan page. Get in the habit of self-promoting and dropping hints in her posts so people can be more attentive. She literally had the world in the palm of her hand 2020 but of course the parents getting sick thing was an issue but she literally chose to not address it. When a post stating that she is having some family issues and will be trying to get her music out as soon as possible would've definitely softened the blow. She'd rather suffer in silence because she thinks it makes her weak but if anything it makes her unrelatable. Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter don't even go out their way to be extra and that's what makes them so relatable. When she was on Megan's live she was so bubbly and goofy why hide that in place of this super poised and overly passive persona? I just don't get it; she was supposed to wow us but all we got was an album and nothing more.

I think she's scared to say the wrong thing. The whole Camila thing has truly dampened her confidence. However, she should take that and turn it around. Speak about it but also tell yourself that if I let that affect me forever I'll never progress. If I continue to play the backfield I will never know what's it's like to hit a home run. Her mom is more opinionated than her and she's the one who speaks up most of the time. Normani needs to take some of that passion and apply it to her career. Speak up and say idgaf what anybody thinks I want to promote the music just to show fans that I'm grateful. I'm going to sing an acapella version on live and do some simple acoustic versions because I can't get funding for a huge performance. Talk about the mv's and what your experience was like filming them. Say where you keep the rocket statue take more fun outgoing pictures with friends. Something; I mean everything doesn't need to be a huge photo shoot. Go out and take a damn selfie. I mean take a small video of yourself doing something goofy or a funny moment that you think is funny. I mean let's not just play idle while your peers are working their ass off on and off the camera.
Givemeyourcoat Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Normani think building a relationship based on trust with her fanbase isn't important well… even the fans that were the most patient are loosing it. 1
Motivation93 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I could be wrong but also she'd be doing a few covers on that tour if she ain't releasing a deluxe lol. I would absolutely go see that tour but I feel like itd be hella short

It'd be the length of a normal headlining set in a small venue if she did most of the album. But who knows if a tour will materialize at this point.
Topaz Posted July 23 Posted July 23 She should only do a deluxe if she has a guaranteed two hits on it and four bonus tracks. Other than that she has enough for like a 1 hour setlist or maybe a little longer. Album + Waves, Fair, Love Lies, DWAS, Checklist, Slow Down, Motivation, New To You. Her tour should $50 or less if she wants to fill it out tbh. She isnt up in the ranks yet to charge $100 or more.
Arianna Kylie Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) there was a new interview i guess. she said the videos are coming soon.. again.. Edited July 23 by Arianna Kylie
Monkey_Juice Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I don't care what nobody says She was sabotaged What record label drops a debut album without booking ONE performance? That's crazy 2

That's crazy The sabotage theory if true or not is not helping her branding. Plus I'm sure RCA don't wanna spend more money cause they already did and she didn't make much return (12k sales first week/ it left the chart the week after) + the artist herself don't show any interest in her music, she doesn't promote it online and drags half of the songs on the album. I don't know why y'all call this sabotage, if someone is sabotaging something it's Normani herself. Her era is a complete mess, her fans are tired of her bad antics and she don't care. She only cares about big stages and big choreo. She continues like that, her next album will sell 4K first week, if we ever have another Edited July 23 by Givemeyourcoat 1 1

A label is supposed to help distribute and market the artist. How did they expect her to do well with no videos and performances (Her biggest selling points). I love Normani but she does not have the personality or status for her and her team to think interviews are all she needs to sell records. I just hope she has a speedy recovery so she can hit the road.

popularmoonlight Posted July 24 Posted July 24 It's like she doesn't move on to greater things with all these interview talking about the same stuff. Yes, we know it took you 6 years to put this out. Yes, we know it was hard. How about trying to make things differently? The album is out now, move on from the past. 1
AFullMoonlight Posted July 24 Posted July 24 She's getting asked the same questions in these interviews though.

They probably sent out what they're supposed to talk about in these. It makes no sense for all the different interviewers think of the same exact questions
