Hmm just like some had suspected lol. I wonder why it never came out?

I always had that as a theory, and I stand by thinking there would be a Candy Paint teaser by the end. Why would they hire such a high energy choreographer for Fair? :rip:

Probably because of the poor reception to the song.

Really wish she had a Pharrell, Timbaland, Babyface, Darkchild on board as her EP

Surprised Keep Cool/RCA have not dropped her yet, or forced an album out.

Only Darkchild has adapted to current trends tbh. I have a lot of issues with the Justine Skye album Timbaland executive produced a couple of years ago tbh.

I honestly don't know if she being this silent is because

1. She's busy preparing the comeback with Candy Paint

2. It's a PR move to build more hype when she comes back

3. She doesn't care.

Honest question… Do any of you think she can recover from this? This silence/lack of presence is wild and really concerning..

To me, it's because Fair didn't perform as well as they thought and they didn't see any purpose in releasing a video for it.

She literally mentioned it in an interview. Why there was ever doubt about it beats me, but clearly RCA axed that and any other plans she had.

Her recent follows on Instagram are two RCA execs from the label’s marketing department.

That type of tactic only works when an artist is truly established, which is not the case for Normani.

Oh see, I did not know this. Good on her, then.

The only good news I can firmly say is that 90% of the time, Normani only follows people she just met in real life. Like during the movie, there was some kind of tap dancing duo she followed and they had some IG stories during the production which confirmed they were on set.

So, maybe the big RCA meetings are happening and Normani is finally dropping late spring to summer. Fall tour or whatever the plan from last year was. :lakitu:

the delusion of stans screaming conspiracy and sabotage can rest, it’s really her :bibliahh:

What a mess. :rip: They’re just publicly clowning on her. I was going to say she’s maybe waiting to have the album finished before she pushes the next single but… uhh, girl, answer the calls.

I remember they did have a big meeting around February/March last year that was allegedly album and marketing related, so you could be onto something.

Her album title tweet is going viral (again). It's really been almost 5 years.

They keep doing this every year. When will it end? :bird:

It's never stopping, at least not until the album comes out, if it ever does! :dies:

It’s sad. Yet I continue to listen to Wild Side daily! I would love a Starrah and Tommy produced album still. But she really has fumbled a lot

Did anyone see her recent IG story? I wonder where she is - especially if that’s in a studio of a producer who clearly has worked with a slew of R&B and Hip-Hop artists.

Probably Mike Will Made It

I know this has been dissected before but I still can't believe they actually thought that Fair would be a hit and a good release after Wild Side, no one wanted a slow song from her, who sanctioned that? It completely killed all the momentum that she built, it was such a misstep...

Really hope whatever direction they go in next has 2 fast urban pop songs, anyone know about what's coming up?

Yup she's in the studio. Why do you think it's Mike Will Made It @nooniebao?

I kinda understand what they tried to do. Labels these days think artists need to release personal, vulnerable songs because they think that's what sticks (they're 100% wrong) so they might have thought she needed her moment like that. You can see Chloe's label is making her do the same thing. Release vulnerable emotional songs thinking that's what sticks. But clearly, for Normani, that wasn't going to work unless they were ready to release an up tempo song very soon after. We should've gotten Fair and literally 3/4 weeks after Candy Paint, there would be a storyline happening. She would've had the opportunity to release more than one song in a short period and actually spark interest in her album.

Can she get out of the studio? Unless she’s finishing up N2 and N3 I think she’s recorded enough!
