Anyway, what if we're going to get "Born to Die" type of sound? Main producer of this album (Emile Haynie) was also mostly known for his hip hop production before working with Lana Not sure if this would fit @Electric Youth's definition of urban sound, though

Why doesn't she want to work with Timbaland?  Literally all her songs with him went viral these past 2 years.....including ******* Give It To Me. People obviously are here for this combination... Her music with him worked, unlike Darkchild and that indie producer I forgot his name...

 

They are on good terms and I think Timbaland would like to work with her as well? Why wouldn't he? She gave him some of his biggest hits and those songs still bring good money

 

Like Nelly, sis, this is not a rocket science... Do you want to keep charting out of Billboard 200 or not?

Most probably yes, but how knows what's going on in Miss Furtado's mind. Also, it most probably has changed already a few times in the meantime, anyway

I'm not saying we won't get something from Timbaland, but it'll most probably be just a co-production at best, IMO. I mean, Timbaland hasn't produced anything exciting in more than a decade, so let this man stay in '00.

 

T Minus is able to deliver great production and he hasn't been overused lately. Plus we know she also worked with this colombian drug cartel Bomba Estéreo, so she definitively knows what sound is currently in. For quick lil streaming smash Nelly needs a Drake feature, not Timbaland's dated production (and T Minus is Drake long time collaborator, so there's some hope)

#259 in the world and 20M listeners on Spotify...that's better than a lot of artists with current singles, she needs to do something... And if ******* Azealia Banks can get signed, Nelly should be able too

I don't think Miss Nelly's artisty has anything to do with BTD sound whatsoever even if she works with Emile

 

 

And for urban what I've been thinking about is bops like Parking Lot, Something and Big Hoops but fresher

Gurl, once again: we're not talking about exact sound or people, just about the idea. We don't need Mr Haynie for anything specific, he's just an example of a hip hop producer that did well with production of a pop album.
