I feel like that might have a lot to do with being told her career was over after ARTPOP. I watched the Ed Sheeran pop vocal album win after that (thinking it was the one that infuriated stan Twitter where all the women were in attendance except Ed) but it's the one from a pre-telecast show, and lmao @ the band playing the opening notes of Perfect Illusion as if it had won.
