skwonderfactory Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Thanks to @Witnessed ET inspiring me, I made an entire FAKE album concept: ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– 143 is the sixth studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released on July 26, 2024, by Capitol Records, four years after its predecessor Smile (2020). Perry worked with several producers on the album, such as Max Martin, Shellback, Oscar Holter, Kevin Parker, Danny L Harle, and Jeff Bhasker. Self-described as "summer tranquility, bop-a-licious, sexy as hell", 143 is primarily a pop record with subgenres including electro-pop, bubblegum pop, Europop, disco, and alternative pop. It is characterized by themes of technology, sex, confrontation, and introspection. The album was released with a singular standard edition of fourteen songs total: 1. "Artificial" || Written by Katy Perry, Max Martin, Shellback, and Ali Payami || Produced by Max Martin, Shellback, and Ali Payami || 3:22 2. "Star–Crossed Lovers" || Written by Katy Perry, Oscar Holter, and Sarah Hudson || Produced by Oscar Holter and Peter Karlsson || 2:47 3. "Manic Hybrid" [E] || Written by Katy Perry, Oscar Holter, Noonie Bao, and Sasha Sloan || Produced by Oscar Holter and Peter Karlsson || 3:19 4. "Like a Low Blow" [E] || Written by Katy Perry || Produced by Mike Will Made-It, Scooly, and Noah "Mailbox" Passovoy || 2:28 5. (featuring Lionel Richie) || Written by Katy Perry and Lionel Richie || Produced by Nathan Chapman || 4:15 9. "Flip the Switch" [E] || Written by Katy Perry, Danny L Harle, Caroline Ailin, and Tobias Jesso Jr. || Produced by Kevin Parker and Danny L Harle || 3:45 10. "Cosmic Cool" || Written by Katy Perry, Max Martin and Shellback || Produced by Max Martin and Shellback || 3:23 11. "The Current" (featuring Dua Lipa) || Written by Katy Perry, Dua Lipa, Kevin Parker, Danny L Harle, Caroline Ailin, and All Tamposi || Produced by Kevin Parker and Danny L Harle || 3:07 12. "1984" || Written by Katy Perry || Produced by Jeff Bhasker || 4:23 Total length: 48:57 The album was met with widespread praise as many critics and fans alike agreed 143 was Perry's true return to form. It also saw success with the release of lead single "Artificial" on June 7, 2024, peaking at number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the top ten in several other countries, the TikTok-viral song, "SNAP!" which reached number one in the U.S. and became Katy's first song to top the charts there in ten years, and latter singles "The Current" and "Star–Crossed Lovers", which both reached the top ten several places as well with "The Current" hitting number one in the U.K. and Germany. Commencing in January 2025 and finishing in March 2026, Katy embarked on the I Love You On the Road Tour throughout North and Central America, Asia, Europe, South America, Africa, and Oceania. Maya Posted May 29 Posted May 29 (edited) sincerely? This whole delay will end up creating a new "Houdini" for her... Edited May 29 by Maya
PopLover1423 Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Why did you guys get the thread closed?? It's not as if she said she'll release a month later or something, we just lost 138 pages? 1
partynauseous Posted May 29 Posted May 29 i just wish i understood what @sam.teas said a few days ago that capitol was slowly sending material to other locations and we should have some faith
jeffreyy Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Not y'all seriously asking for the thread to be closed But are we also doing countdowns here? 1 1
peacok Posted May 29 Posted May 29 What really sucks about what happened last week is that she could've just said that she's not ready to release anything yet and we would have been okay, instead she decided to troll us with that cryptic voice message and then disappear. I'm still excited for new music but last week left me confused and exhausted 4
Psycho Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Couldn't y'all get the thread closed after nothing happens today Anyway, 90 minutes
