Not true, I remember the gays utterly surrendered summer 2010 to "California Gurls". She had a sizeable gay fanbase, in fact they are probably the reason Witness wasn't a complete bomb and has decent streaming numbers and she could still tour.

Havana is basically a novelty song. A Lambada/La Isla Bonita/Ale Alejandro type 'Latin hit made for Europeans to fantasize about Latin America' song. "Havana oh na na, half of my heart is in Havana oh na na" is going to get used in tourism ads for Cuba until the end of time.

If the Alejandro you’re referring to here is the lady gaga song  Lambada and La Isla Bonita are on a different league.
