not mabel at tap :rip:

It's getting scary.

Watch her pull an Angie and snatch Dukagjin from Dua's mom next.

Dua isn’t the girl y’all think she is, it’s time we admit she’s fully radio carried

Literally no one has ever said she’s not a GP artist at this point

However FN did help to cultivate a fanbase, but yeah she doesn’t have a crazy rabid base

What does that have to do with Potion?

not when her streaming obliterates her radio power and her sales are solid AF for a new gen artist.

It's just some songs hit and others don't. As is the case with literally all popgirls tbh. I think we just have insane expectations for her after the slayage of the FN era.

potion is cute but i can see why it didn’t pick up because the song isn’t instant at all.

also aren’t all of calvin’s new song kind of underperforming? seems like mot many people are here for that sound atm.

Yeah, she releases so many singles, on one side that's more chances at scoring a hit, on the other it's obvious not everything is gonna stick. She got three mega-smashes + multiple moderate/big hits in a 2 years span, which is quite insane.

That has nothing to do with it. Potion just isn't a good song (allthough I liked it personally and would have liked to see it become a hit)

The way she's been delivering QUALITY from day one :jonnycat: It's a shame most of ATRL got deleted. I'd love to see the threads about her from 2015 (if there are any)

I think she actually started out being stanned by the indie gays on here, then she flopped and released more commercial stuff and they dropped her. Then NR came out and ATRL ‘gp’ started noticing her

I remember @Iris making one and asking if she's the next MPG in 2016 and everyone laughed, well... they ain't laughing anymore, just sufferring :jonnycat:

It still amazes me how she became a megastar, especially after struggling at first. Thank you NR :clap3:

Sweetest Pie was horrible, but Potion is amazing :gaycat2: the intro and the production alone >. I love her delivery too.

That thread was my first introduction to her. The OP was about Be The One and I was like "ohhh this is really good. I like her tone". Later when Hotter Than Hell dropped I was 100% sold.

Potion isn't that bad but it's not that good either. She shouldn't have just said yes to and jumped on anything and everything for the past few years - IMO. I feel like some of her Deluxe or side releases were so throwaway and could have watered down her built-up acclaim a bit. Luckily it seems like she's slowing down and (hopefully?) won't release anything more until Argylle or DL3? She needs a break - and so do people lol

I agree that some of those releases were unnecessary, none of the deluxe tracks have clicked with me other than That Kind Of Woman. But Potion is amazing to me. I also agree that she shouldn't release anything until DL3.

Potion was never gonna be a hit, but I love how it showcases Dua's vocals in a new way, she doesn't have any song in her discography where she sounds quite like there. The production is delicious too, it's just that this combo of Dua and Thug doesn't really compliment it much.

Sweetest Pie is a banger tho, but it flopping is a sign y'all need to drop the 00s DL3 whatever idea
