Cryptique Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 They have like 4 Mega Smashes, 3 Diamond Singles in the US(Thunder is at 9x Plat) and 4 1B+ Songs on Spotify and 3 1B+ Songs on YT (Demons at 976M) But no No.1 in H100 and no UK Top10 ENEMY is currently SMASHING.. will it be their first?
AidanUnderYou Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 their songs are always slow burners. Believer wasn’t even Top 40 in the UK and it’s 3x platinum which only massive hits reach. It might even be the only song to peak outside the Top 40 to be certified that high.
Bloodflowers. Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Having spread out success is better than having a quick lil forgotten weekly success
greento Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 I’m shook they’ve never had a uk top 10. I can’t believe Radioactive wasn’t at least a top 5 hit
gustavothehuman Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 (edited) Their situation in the UK is weird but in the US we can explain it with two words: organic success. They pull actual sales instead of payola. I'm impressed to see them smashing after 10 years by the way, finally a 2010s band that hasn't faded just one album after their breakthrough Edited April 1, 2022 by gustavothehuman
Julia Fox Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 It always amazes me how they keep winning even after all the criticism they have been faced since their early days and yeah… all of her singles are slow burners, they peak after months of release and that’s something that not everybody’s has… I’m not that fan of their music, but i do enjoy a lot of their songs and well… I’m happy for them because imagine keep smashing and doing great numbers after 10 years and having a lot of people calling you the new Nickelback, sellouts and **** like that but they just keep winning and shutting mouths! legendz thingz
Katamari Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 slow burning success means that usually wont get high peaks high peaks are only a thing when all the stars align really still legends tho

Follow You deserved its success I feel like their worst is Thunder, but yeah, Follow You and Wreck deserved Enemy's success a lot more

Anomaly Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Arts not the charts Longevity not front-heavy Organic not Synthetic Quality not mediocrity
Cryptique Posted April 1, 2022 Author Posted April 1, 2022 BELIEVER is still their Best Song for me, deserved to be no.1 Whatever It Takes deserved top10 Radioactive is kind of overrated like 14x Platinum for real?
Tinashegrande6 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Yeah the UK chart peaks are misleading. Radioactive may have only peaked at 12 but it charted for 107 weeks Demons also charted for 44 weeks despite the 13 peak. Believer was a slow burn hit, so I'm not surprised by the low peak. I heard it when it dropped and didn't really like it but it clicked when it was in the Riverdale series 1 finale
UnusualBoy Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 I think it's because their hits are sleeper hits, they don't smash right out of the gate, they take time to smash and when they do they don't peak really high since their radio has peaked or sales had peaked or streaming had peaked. Their longevity is amazing tho and it's funny how they always manage to get an unexpected smash like Thunder, Believer or that new Enemy song.
