Reading all the comments in here and confused... why do y'all want to see Normani fail so bad?? I mean sure the song is underwhelming and nothing to write home about but the ****-shaming isn't cute.

I do think people are overreacting but It’s actually the official second single, has an adds date at Urban radio, video on the way and is #1 on all the big R&B playlists at Apple Music. SZA just got another hit with a “slow” song as well.

sis it's not **** shaming to call out an artist literally showing their brown flower on tiktok for hype especially when regular people get permabanned for much less

 

anyways, the normani dragging literally only started due to building resentment of empty promises in tandem with her gassing herself up for years. she quite literally did this all to herself, she had everything going for her and a much more supportive narrative when she first went solo - and she threw it in the trash.

 

now she's in the same line of fire as demi, camila, and nicki when it comes to anything she does.

When her 2 previous singles did better, yes - it’s expected to do better than #152.. 

 

Also she doesn’t count as a brand new artist as she’s been in this industry for many years as part of a group. these excuses would not be working for Camila if she had just released her 4th non album single (? - idk what number this if for Normani as she keeps releasing non album flops)

Also, her solo single ‘Motivation’ was released in 2019, ‘Love Lies’ was released in 2018, how is she a brand new artist?

People drop buzz singles after official singles dropped for the same era?  
 

I’m convinced that they don’t want to drop the album, just so they can keep claiming “buzz single” status at the slightest underperformance, lol.
