Ribs Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Taylor is eyeing to become the most streamed female artist of all time by October. Are you surprised?
JorgeM Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Eminem in a few weeks, Ariana after Summer and Justin at the end of the year, and just like that Taylor makes the top 5 of most streamed artist all time
gustavothehuman Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Not surprised, Post Malone can't get a hit quite like Billie Eilish I fear
Kyoto Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 (edited) Taylor surpassing the early 2019 fad Miss Post Edited March 18, 2022 by Kyoto
KatyPrismSpirit Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 i feel like we put too much weight on the importance of streaming amounts.
UnusualBoy Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I know top 2 is Drake and Ed, but who else completes the rest of the top 5?

In long terms Taylor is going to pass Ed and The Weeknd, Drake advantage is too huge and Bad Bunny is the biggest artist on Spotify, so she could make top 3

Abel? 5 minutes ago, KatyPrismSpirit said: i feel like we put too much weight on the importance of streaming amounts. If you say so

Anomaly Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Does anybody know how many total streams roughly people like Ed, Bieber, and Drake had when Taylor rejoined Spotify? I’m just curious on gauging how many streams roughly Ms Swift may have missed out on prior to her 2017(?) rejoin to see where she might be on this list had she never left. I figure with 1989 she would have performed somewhat similar (maybe a bit worse) in streams to them had she been on the platform. Also, were her previous stream counts from her older music restored when she returned or did she have to start from zero again?

So what should be the new indicator of success, Vegas residencies for forgotten has beens? OP: coming for top 5 by the end of the year no 2019 fads allowed
What_A_Mess Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Release the Taylor Versions already Taylor! I can barely stand not streaming the stolen versions especially 1989!

I believe low 20s for each as Rihanna was still top 10 at that point with about 13 Bill. Assuming she didn’t leave. I see 1989 doing around 3 bill initially (first year) and it’d probably be around 6-7 currently. As for the rest of her catalog. She didn’t start at zero, but she had less than a bill overall, I think. Her music wasn’t going that well on steaming prior to lover (this could be due to her fans having physical copies) but with the release of lover, Folklore, Evermore, and the 2 tvs and streaming being fully embraced. She got a massive back boost as her fans came back to support in droves. with all this being considered. I think she’d currently be 4th, maybe 3rd place as lead. If she didn’t leave. OT: spamming really does wonders for Artists, especially if they have a big pull. Worked for Mariah/Celine, worked for Rihanna, Worked for Drake and is now working for Taylor. Congrats to her.

But if not streams then album sales, but those are down too (and she dominates there as well anyways). I don’t really know what other metric you can use to verify an artist has mainstream success???
Yuanyu Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 She has only needed 6 albums in 5 years, 4 since 2020

Guest Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Slightly off topic but these two are my dream collab, i'd love to see them work together and dominate the charts

foreverwinter13 Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 (edited) Not the OTH running here discrediting Taylor's streams. It's not Taylor's fault that yall faves are Lazy af. Your faves can't release 5 albums in 3 years coz they dont have the demand that Ms Swift Has. Stop acting like yall faves will not flop when they release like this A Musician who want to release music is not surprising at all Edited March 19, 2022 by foreverwinter13
