I wonder if Lil nas' team is coming for another #1 since the points are still really low and he's likely going to come up with a discount remixes or something once it enters top 10.

What I don't like is that people keep making shady comments about Nicki being over. No that's not the case but she's in a different phase of her career.

 

Also, posters are coming up in here saying but i thought she was over as if the sales aren't from many people buying the song 3-4 times with the looped streams and sales not stabilizing over time.

#2 debut these days coming from mass buying is comparable to BTS who ATRL lashes for their mass buying peak songs that don't fare well long term.

 

I think some are seeing the timing to release during a low competitive time, feature an in prime rapper with the top rap album of this decade so far, video, streaming parties, instrumentals for rap songs and it's very BTS in that its driven by sales many of which people purchased at least 3-4 copies and not by organic demand.

 

This isn't the itunes era. in the streaming era plenty artists aim for a strong week 1 in case their song doesn't take off but a hit is determined by longevity. Look at 2020 that was the epitome of #1 peaking songs vs #1 hit songs. Top 10 peaking songs vs Top 10 hit songs.

 

Travis got flack for it....BTS got flack for it...Taylor even got flack for it.

 

It's more so consistent criticism on the attempts to game the system to claim an alternative fact #1 and when they win it gets flack for #1* and when they reach top 5 instead there's flack for the failed attempts to tip the scale and still not make it to the summit.

 

It's not just Nicki. It's done with any artist who tries to tip the scale for a cheap peak.
