Hmm. I do agree that it's generic and sounds like they wanted to have a hit with that one, but still I think that it's better than Good Girls On 12/23/2021 at 4:33 PM, Sunderland 4ever said: The only ones I've heard until now. Anthony Hopkins always delivers great-quality acting. Absolutely agree and you definitely should see it. It's truly his best performance yet. It did leave me underwhelmed on my first 2-3 listens though Welcomes the Pressure & Un Millón, some great bops! half•alive's 2021 singles unfortunately didn't quite connect with me except for Summerland, which is probably their best work. 801 || I would've watched Invincible if i could tolerate gore more Might watch OMITB at some point but wow Steve Martin is a legend!! || Luca was very cute, a gay 'ol time! I was curious about the hate but thanks! And yeah, it's not their best and kinda generic but still a bop. Totally get what you're saying from half·alive's singles, It kinda worked for me the other way round lol, and i guess you'll have surprise this set. Steve Martin is really, really great in OMITB, and with Martin Short and even Selena, they have really good chemistry altogether.
D/X Posted December 26, 2021 Author Posted December 26, 2021 5 Thank you so much for sharing this journey and 2021! 10-1 Olivia Rodrigo, my patroness saint of saving me from the Mariah GIF, comes to perform one last Disney/Christmas miracle. A rather extremely depressing song about loneliness, but still beautifully executed and one of the best additions to Sir Sly's catalogue. Catchy, pop-ish and with a slight indie sound, yet another song inspired in the COVID lockdowns with a more upbeat angle. Having known his love ballads from a long time, this 180 change in his career, sound, lyrics and even looks was rather shocking but very welcoming. Perhaps Olivia ripped off Paramore, but still it made us geriatric millennials to travel directly to our teenage and immature years back in 2007, and I'm thankful for that. Staying true to their unique, laidback and feel-good style, Kawala managed to stay inside the top 10 for a second year in a row. Merge catchiness, cheeriness, nostalgia and the perfect dose of darkness, you'll get this mysterious bop. And the choreo from the music video adds even more to the whole experience. Valley finally created a song that in another universe could've been a crossover hit. Perfect for a summer afternoon with your friends. While they didn't manage to top their singles from their debut, Mansionair still provided a top-notch, groovy and summery song. In the middle of a pandemic, half·alive released the PERFECT summer song. They had a mission and accomplished it. Truly their best song to date. And in a twist of events, Foster The People returned to the top spot almost 10 years after, of course thanks to The Knocks, which just proves that a whole collab album should be released. All About You is not only FTP's best (participation in a) song in YEARS, but captures perfectly both their Torches style clashing with a fresh and haunting vibe that sometimes is reminiscent of a 90's song. Text-Friendly Version: #10. Sir Sly - "Little Deaths" #09. Beaux - "What's The Point?" #08. Tom Odell - "Numb" #07. Olivia Rodrigo - "Good 4 U" #06. Kawala - "Chasing/Wasting Time" #05. Saint Kochi - "Monster" #04. Valley - "Tempo" #03. Mansionair ft. Yahtzel - "Don't Wait" #02. half·alive - "Summerland" #01. The Knocks ft. Foster The People - "All About You"
D/X Posted December 26, 2021 Author Posted December 26, 2021 5-1 This year was extremely underwhelming for music videos. Perhaps I didn't do a thorough research on other genres to look for good quality cips. So if I'm being honest and aside from today's #1, these videos wouldn't have a chance in previous years. Loved the Tinder meets horror concept. This could be turned into an A24 feature. While the video might be rather simple, the concept behind this group of diverse people walking NYC during early hours is something that I seriously liked. Plus the cinematography is spectacular. This is taking a generic concept and executing it perfectly. After watching the video you get serious FOMO issues of the perfect summer with friends. But the real highlights are the looping summer concept and that choreo by the end. Gigantic gap Dua should be crown as the Queen of Music Videos. This is her best yet: turn a meme into a brilliantly made clip. Perfection. Text-Friendly Version: #05. Taylor Swift - "WIllow" #04. Dodie - "I Kissed Someone (It Wasn't You)" #03. The Knocks ft. Foster The People - "All About You" #02. half·alive - "Summerland" #01. Dua Lipa - "We're Good"
Remmy Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Didn't watch a lot of videos this year. Seen pieces of willow, Summerland and We're Good but none in full || Little Deaths is cute, not one of my TR&FOL faves though. I've heard All About You a few times, don't really remember it Now The Knocks SNAPPED last year with Bodies ft. MUNA! Tempo + Summerland oh yesss Two great bops, and kiii your h•a opinion pretty much mirrors mine: "half•alive's 2021 singles unfortunately didn't quite connect with me except for Summerland, which is probably their best work"

Green Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 "All About You" and good 4 u The "We're Good" video was really good
K$Ellie Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I actually really liked the We're Good video, made me dislike the song less good 4 u in the top 10
potent Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 I liked some previous songs from some of those artists, but didn't check for them this year/didn't know they released All About You is a bop great choice for #1
